Best way to get fast skill/weapon points post-game?

Post by Zak »

This probably gets asked a million times, but whatever... already did my google research.

I mean post-game as in after Reminisce, but before starting Redemption. I wanna get everyone to 20 (Alkaid already is, she actually naturally "weaponed up" fast without me even going out of my way, I just took her everywhere that was on the boards/in the story and she got to 20 before being out of commission lol).

I know it's usually Beginner's Text and Beginner's Book, unfortunately they aren't as easy to get anymore as they were in Rebirth since Henako and Corporal Yano no longer have them (and I don't know if any other traders do, but I doubt it since my google search probably would have yielded it by now if someone did).

Research told me that Bad@$$ Guild Shop has them, and Trifle in Mac Anu (not sure if they carry it in Dol Dona).

But see here's the thing. I know about how to work the Dol Dona "Guild Shop cycle" and all, I was able to get a Beginner's Text the first time from Bad@$$, a Beginner's Book the second... but I've been back to them at least 30 times and haven't seen ANY! Are they each one-time only from there, like Kafu's? Or is there a certain thing I have to do to make them have it again?

I haven't really experimented with Trifle yet (so far I got just one Beginner's Text from them in Mac Anu). But first of all, is there a Guild Shop manipulatable pattern in Mac Anu or is it random? I noticed there are two out of five at a time there, but going in and out of areas doesn't seem to yield any pattern. Are they both going on a cycle? Or completely random.

And if there really is no way around either of those tedious methods, is there another way to get books/texts faster?

And... as a final resort, if there isn't for either of those... haha anyone know of a good way to actually do it out and GRIND a lot of Rengekis fast and level up weapons quickly? That is, with everyone at level 100 already... all the monsters in those places even seem to die fast! Any good tough area bosses maybe?

Thanks in advance.

This is exactly as I feared when playing Vol.1! Good thing I stacked on 90 something texts and 20 something books, but boy was that tedious!
So far, I've only used about 30 texts from the pool and I pretty much have all the skills I can learn for the volume!

How about Doppelganger? He doesn't get knocked down or anything, maybe you can score a lot of Rengekis off of him.

Didn't one of the NPCs from the game mention that Weapon Skills level up faster in the arena?
Try going in alone, with Null equipment equpped so that you don't get damaged at all, and just wait for their skills to stack up on Counters. I can only assume that would be your best bet.

If you're trying to raise the others' weapon skills, try setting their Strategy to Rage, then have them go crazy against high level mobs while letting Haseo sit the entire battle out. (I'm sorry, I don't know any good keywords for level 100 because I'm only level 81 at the moment!

You can also get a couple of books and texts from the Bike Quest-y bird if you get enough Chim Chims during your runs, but I heard they are limited.

Well lovely... its a little late for that lol.

Didn't actually think about that. Interesting... think that'll be my next try.

Been there, tried that, arena did nothing for me. Even level 100 Limit Battles.

Also I am trying for everyone, not just Haseo. lol.

Yeah... well its not so much keywords, it's what would be a good monster to fight. I was gonna try a few level 100 boss missions. Hopefully someone here can recommend one!
but the Rage thing sounds like a good idea, I've mostly been having everyone on Free-Will.

Yes been there done that, one-time thing, limited rewards. Gone, done, and used.

Thanks though, I think I'm gonna slaughter some Doppelgangers.

If want to hunt Doppelgangers, then just go to field areas with "Moonlight" as the 3rd keyword, and move around for a bit. Doppelganger will appear immediatly without having to wait.

And yeah, other than farming for Beginner's Texts/Books in Vol. 1, the fastest way to level up your weapon skills is by constantly fighting in the Arena or against Doppelganger. Personally i like the Arena more, because it does give you twice the EXP for Weapon skills, and if you put them in Rage and let them do all the work until they run out of SP you'll really see how their levels increase. Also i just LOVE the Arena so going through 15-20 battles per character wasn't any tedious to me, and i had so much fun letting them do all the work, and even manually choosing their skills sometimes D: And to protect them from Hangekis, i equipped Haseo with the weakest Spin Blade and just countered the leader with Gale Blades so i wouldn't kill them so fast either.
Doppelganger can also be an endless punching bag for Skills, and with SP-healing items you can technically get from Skill lv11 to 20 in one battle, however he's also pretty dangerous and there's no way your teammates can live through that battle on their own. And you sure can Rengeki him ALOT, but that would only be helpful for Haseo, not for everyone else. And if you want to train Haseo then it'll be easier and even faster go to solo on the Arena against lv100 teams and beat them up with Hangekis. Doppelganger is an awesome enemy and VERY fun to fight, but not my top choice for when it comes to levelling up Weapon Skills D:

Good luck! Mehehe.
By the way, isn't it better to not max out skills on Vol. 2, that way you have more things to look forward to while playing Vol. 3?

Alright thanks I'll try the Arena/Spin Gai Gu/Gale Blade method.

But what about leveling up Gaspard?

...And why would you WANT to level up Gaspard? D8 lol
Well, i suppose the best for him would be to let him spam Vak Dons against Doppelganger or something.

There's other methods to get Beginner's Text/Books, and even Master's Text/Books, but those are only avaliable at the end of the 3rd game. There's not much to do in Vol. 2 about it D:
