ABSTERGO 8DDD No, srsly. And possibly Erudito. This goes back to Project Legacy, which was pretty cool and interesting for the little time it lasted.
I feared they might've still continued with Desmond, EVEN AFTER what happens in the ending of AC3, but it seems that what happened for him stays for real. And that's fine, it was a nice moment to entirely end the arc involving Altair/Ezio/Desmond (screw Connor), even though the ending itself sucks. lol

I've just finished AC3, and from what i can tell, it'll continue with a 3-sided war between Assassins, Templars and the First Civilization (or some of them anyways), perhaps with Assassins and Templars finally joining sides, if only to fight against a common enemy too dangerous for either of them.
But in reality, i don't think they really care about continuing with the main plot of the series. With the ending of AC3 they abruptly finished all of the plots that could've closed the series, and so they can go ANYWHERE and do ANYTHING right now, even if it means ignoring the main plot until AC7 or so (there's no rush to do anything, unlike the 2012 stuff). With this, i'm not really saying that the story since AC4 will suck, in fact they might be pretty cool (and i already love the fact it'll deal with Abstergo), but there's nothing to look forward to anymore, and instead of adding another ending plot they'll just leave vague clues and hints about what might happen next, just so you know there's STILL something going on, but nothing will really happen until they get tired of milking the series.
So i guess that all that remains to look forward to in AC4 is a cool-looking game with awesome naval battles, entertaining missions that can keep you playing for a long time, and maybe some interesting background story if you're into pirates. Personally, apart from a good game (hopefully ANYTHING better than AC3 D8), all i really look forward to is what they might reveal about Abstergo and the 2013/2014 Templars. It might not contribute to the plot at all, but at least it'll increase my knowledge and satisfy my curiosity regarding my favorite side in this endless war. AC3 also did a decent job about that at least. lol
