What if the Egyptian Empire never died? What if it continued to expand and conquer...
It's the year 2032 AD, and the Ten Great Egyptian Territories have never been so prosperous. Except, not all of them are.
As Earth's population grows unchecked, and the planet's resources dwindle, some territories are forced to have less than others.
To keep the population steady, each year, ten young men and women from each of the territories are chosen to compete in a free-for-all death-match.
Enter, The Abydos Games!
----THE RULES----
1. To be eligible to compete, you must be between the age of 10 and 18.
2. Youth are chosen at random; five young men, and five young women.
3. Each youth is given one of ten totems, based on a Deity, which grants them a power. Totems are attached to a necklace.
4. Each territory is granted all ten totems, so that all territories have an equitable start.
5. When one competitor kills another, the deceased's totem becomes the victor's.
6. Contestants may form alliances to aid in their struggle, but eventually, only one may live.
7. The last one alive, wins.

---THE ABYDOS GAMES----
All across the Ten Great Egyptian Territories, men, women, and children were being ushered to their television's to witness a speech. The screens depict the nations emblem while the national anthem is played. Then, the screen shows a tall, regal man, standing at a podium.
"People of the Nile, hear me! It is I, your Pharaoh, Ashempten XI! It is time once more, to call upon ten young men and women, from across the Great Territories, to compete! Not only shall they compete for their life, but the lives of all the billions of people across our lands! In five hours time, 100 children, from ages 10 to 18, will be called forth to serve their nation!"
The man bowed his head, a sign of humble pride for being chosen by Amun himself to rule its vast land, and being able to make this declaration.
"To my younger patriots, I say this: train hard, pray to Amun and its pantheon, and when the day comes...STRIKE HARD! STRIKE FAST!"
The man grinned with such vicious energy.
"Happy Abydos Games!"
At the end of the speech, some homes cheered, hoping their children would be granted the honor of competing, while others mourned, hoping their children would be spared.
