Our views on Life, Science and Religion.
I know this is a very touchy subject, and it usually devolves into a mass argument about people being "wrong" in their beliefs even if they're the exact same religion as the other person, but I was wondering if we could have an intelligent discussion that could lead to some new understanding of how the universe works.
I'm not part of any religion myself, but I have created my own beliefs as I assume many other people have. This is mainly based on Science and possible theories I've come up with on my own. I actually typed them up recently and while doing so expanded it into something even more believable. And then I found a quite possible meaning of life scenario.
So what I'm really wondering is, have any of you thought about it long enough that you've come up with something like that?

I'm not really the sort of person to think up epic philosophies or anything like that. Personally, as a Christian, I believe that God created the universe and all that, but I don't think it just happened overnight (I believe in evolution too, bite me).
I feel that everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and expressing it is fine as long as you don't push it on others. But this probably isn't the right topic for that... XD

Yes, but what's your idea of God? King James Edition? Old Testament wrathful angry God? Or something else entirely? Is he the old man sitting on a cloud watching things unfold, or is God itself the very fabric of everything that exists?

I don't claim to know what God is, but I don't think he'd condemn his children for silly reasons, especially since he sent his son to die for our sins.Erranty wrote:Yes, but what's your idea of God? Meh, I'm kinda skeptical of that. I mean, what's the point of being all powerful if you don't satisfy all your desires with it?

You're thinking like a human. You can't do that when religion's involved. XDErranty wrote:Meh, I'm kinda skeptical of that. I mean, what's the point of being all powerful if you don't satisfy all your desires with it?

Meh, my belief revolves less around God being a consciousness and more around the idea that all things communicate, creating a "universal will."

You could be right, I could be right. In the end, we probably won't know until we die. XDErranty wrote:Meh, my belief revolves less around God being a consciousness and more around the idea that all things communicate, creating a "universal will."

Of course, that's still assuming there's an afterlife.

Well, if there's nothing after you die, there's no afterlife. My point is still valid even from a non-religious standpoint. xPErranty wrote:Of course, that's still assuming there's an afterlife.

I'm not part of any religion. I'm an Israylite that follows the books of the bible, the Apocrypha, the book of Yasher/Jasher, the Book of Enoch etc. Because I go by the books my ways are way different such me starting a week at Saturday sunset and me start a year at the start of spring. Read my signature for what I believe the tribes of the world are.

I can see this thread going down just like another asinine thread last year~
Re: Our views on Life, Science and Religion.
Just live. People have different opinions about controversial topics like this. Me for example I'm against abortion because its a huge killer for "black" kids (500,000+ a year) and that the fact that abortion fetus cells are used in food.
I'm waiting on a for the children of Ysrayl to rise again. No longer shall the Hebrews be curse as the lowest nation in a land that isn't ours.

Re: Our views on Life, Science and Religion.
Its when peoples "views" start to intersect and people start arguing because someone has to do go and bastardize another ones views is what I have a problem with.People have different opinions about controversial topics like this.
Like in the last thread *cough* Because someone went and arrogantly said that one religion in particular is a "bunch of crap" *cough*
Re: Our views on Life, Science and Religion.
Really in my opinion they all are but you're going to have arguments/debates anyway. I'm against them because of how it was use to enslave our people and keep our people at the bottom. As long as I'm not being super militant sending people PMs about this stuff I figure I should be fine. I and other people can be way worse with methods of attacking people.

Re: Our views on Life, Science and Religion.
Choose when AND what to say AND how to say it. Pick your "debates" and your battles because some things don't really need to be discussed or "debated" depending on you're talking to.You may say you're are or aren't something but what you say may betray you. Especially on the internet. (Need I reference the other asinine thread again?)
That's it.
That's it.
Re: Our views on Life, Science and Religion.
I see what you mean. I have a lot of enemies in the real world and on the Internet. Most things I reference to most people have no clue what I'm talking about. I'm use to going against the social norms in the western world because being of how I'm treated for having a skin color. It sort of grows on me.

For one thing, skin color doesn't and shouldn't mean **** to anyone, including you. That said, classifying people to so-called "tribes" by their skin color or ethnicity is just stupid, despite what some "book" says.
Not really a badge of honor~I have a lot of enemies in the real world and on the Internet.
Yea, I to going against the "social norm"as well, but I choose what I do and say carefully. Sometimes its best I don't say or do anything at all.
But that's the end of it. Let's just get back on topic, I shouldn't be "mini-modding" anyway.
