zaseo wrote:Now if only we could get the other DLC. Seems like they're still working on PSN of PSP. I might buy the demo just to get Aerith as an assist. How would we get other DLC like the Kingdom Hearts costumes for Cloud, and Leon?
Well...I have some... "means" which allowed me to get the DLCs a few days ago >3> Including the costumes for Cloud and Squall, the helmess Warrior of Light, Aerith and some music packs...but not all of them and not the most recent things such like Cecil's "The Complete Collection" DLC. But i don't think i can share them here without getting a few warnings, and you can only do it if you're running CFW and certain plugins, so yeah. Legally, i have no idea how to get them '83
And regarding Aerith, BTW...she can be such a CHEAP Assist if used well. Seal Evil completely stops the opponent, not like Shantotto's Bind but more like Chaos Judgment's punishment. Planet Protector makes you immune to ALL attacks no matter the conditions, receiving 0 BRV and HP damage from any attack and not flinching by them. And Holy is a 100%-accuracy HP damage just like Maelstorm (almost taking the same amount of time in charging)...but you have entire control of your character, and only a HP/Guard Crushing attack can stop Aerith. Getting a good timing on any of those 3 attacks can turn the whole match around.

If you're in America, you've already missed the "free" Cloud & Tifa costumes, they were pre-order bonuses from Gamestop & Amazon, respecively. WoL helmetless was also free, but I'm not sure if it's up anymore, same with Aerith.
As an aside, how does one "chain" Jecht's attacks(Bravery to HP), cause I can't.

Haseo{Terror of Death} wrote:As an aside, how does one "chain" Jecht's attacks(Bravery to HP), cause I can't.
First of all, do you know how to do combos with Jecht in general? How to get the timing right for Jecht Rush and Jecht Stream for all hits? If you do, then linking HP attacks follows the same theory, now hitting the Square button (or Square + direction) at the proper time. Unlike with Jecht Rush and Stream, however, there's no little red ring to tell you when it's time to hit the button, and only certain HP attacks can be linked to certain combos, so you have to learn them first before using them.
If you don't know how to do combos with Jecht...well, now you kinda do XD And don't worry, because this video will help you to learn and master Jecht combos in general, from the first hit you need to do to total pwnage with the HP attack. It was really helpful to me as the game itself doesn't explain a thing, and text descriptions can be too confusing to understand:
The trick of "chaining" attacks with Jecht is to hit the Circle button at the right time after hitting with his attack, and you can identify that time by a red circle surrounding Jecht at the moment of the combo. Of course, if you're able to see the faded circle, is because you already missed the timing of the combo. But if you can hit Circle right at the moment its about to appear, Jecht will instead have a sparkling circle surrounding him and will do the next attack of the combo. Repeat again and the combo will continue, and then you'll be able to do a specific HP attack by inputting the command required for that HP attack at the exact moment.
For example, to do the Ultimate Jecht Shot combo (my favorite one), and assuming you have Jecht Rush in Circle, and Ultimate Jecht Shot as Square+Up, your input will go like this:
Circle -> Circle -> Circle+Up -> Square+Up
Watch the video to see at which times you'll have to press each button. Mastering yourself with Jecht requires alot of practice, and there are many things that could ruin your timing even after you've gotten it right (namely, pauses for Break and Summons), but if you can perfection yourself with Jecht, you'll have an insane badass beast that will DESTROY anything by just hitting them once.

zaseo wrote:Wait the combo timing is a bit different in Dissidia 012. Jecht has so much testosterone. He is a REAL MAN.
Really? o-O
*checks videos*
...Of course not -3-...
The combo timing is the VERY SAME. There are no differences whatsoever. It's even said in one of the videos, the timing in Dissidia 1 is the same.
The only difference that might exist is the fact you can use Jecht Beam, but if you pay attention, the "Jecht Beam combos" are exactly the same as the Jecht Blade combos, down to the timing in which you must perform the HP attack. So, it's the same as in the original Dissidia, all that changes is that you can use Jecht Beam instead of Jecht Blade...but since the timing for both attacks is the same and there's nothing the opponent can do during the combo, it's much better and even "manlier" to use Jecht Blade >3>
Anyways, those videos are still very helpful. The second one can help you further in getting the timing and it shows 2 more ground-to-air combos, while the first one shows some very sweet EX Revenge combos, which are basicly 3 combos in a row. They're pretty cool indeed, i might even consider changing my Jecht and build a EX Revenge strategy rather than an Assist one. Might not help much against real players though...

Lol I meant to say combos, but yeah. At first I thought you learn his moves as you level, but found out its about timing later. One of the best things about Jecht is if you land the first hit you can always score an hp attack unless your opponent ex revenge, or use assist.
I say it is worth it to teach Jecht ground moves. I don't care for Jecht Beam, but having Jecht Blade, and Ultimate Jecht Shot leads to epic Manly combos.
Haseo{Terror of Death} wrote:Should I even teach Jecht any of his (ground) moves? Not UJS, but .J Blade and J. Beam.
Yeah, i'd say it's worth it, even though you might not equip them. Neither Jecht Beam (ground) and Jecht Blade (ground) are useful for combos, since all ground combos finish with airborne hits except for Ultimate Jecht Shot (and you can't link any other HP attack other than ULS in that one), but they still might be useful for other things. Personally, i keep Ultimate Jecht Shot and Jecht Beam as ground attacks...the beam can be good at interrupting stuff and as an unblockable HP hit, because as strong as Jecht's combos might be, you can be too predictable if you close in to the opponent and do Jecht Rush/Stream all the time.
Also, usually with all my characters i try to master all their abilities first (their offensive ones at least), and then figure out the best ones to use (or do so while mastering them, but still master them all), and if i change of mind i can change his abilities at anytime without worrying about mastering them anymore. Plus, it takes the same amount of time to master 1 ability as it takes to master 6.

Kaori wrote:How do I turn cecil into a paladin? He always seems to be in dark knight form.
There are 3 ways to do so:
The Basic Way - Use an aerial HP attack. Cecil has different BRV attack sets for either Dark Knight or Paladin, but an single set of HP attacks. Therefore, if you use any Ground HP attack (Soul Eater, Dark Flame, Shadow Bringer), he'll automaticly shift into Dark Knight as he does the attack (and stay in Dark Knight if he was that way already), and if you use any Aerial HP attack (Paladin Force, Saint's Fall, Luminous Shard), he'll shift into Paladin mode. That's the basic way to change between both.
The Cool Way - As Cecil levels up, he'll learn the attacks "Paladin Arts" (for Dark Knight) and "Dark Step" (for Paladin). Paladin Arts is a combination of Gravity Ball and Searchlight...first he summons the Gravity Ball, and if you press O again he'll switch to Paladin and use Searchlight (and this is a VERY EFFECTIVE attack, and my favorite way to switch from Dark Knight to Paladin). Likewise, with Dark Step he'll first use Lightning Step as Paladin, and then at the end of the attack will change to Dark Knight and attack with Nightfall (which, although it works, it's very slow and you'd want to use Lightning Step only as a mini-block, not a true means of attacking).
The Epic Way - During EX Mode, Cecil has the ability Soul Shift, which enables him to switch from Dark Knight to Paladin at any time by pressing R+Square (same way you'd trigger EX Mode). You can do this change in the middle of combos, which can lead to VERY EPIC moves that could challenge those of Jecht, creating a chain of unstoppable attacks. But as expected, it's VERY HARD to do as well, and you need to be quick at pressing R+Square since otherwise you'll be like me and end up blocking while changing forms.

My (Man)Lightning made Feral Chaos a little girl, I totally agree that level 95 FC was WAY harder than 130. (S)he got him down to 1 HP, and (s)he was my first partay member. Garland is the worst part of that fight >.>
I'm having trouble making a FC Build cause of...you know is CP issues >.> is anyone willing to help meh?
No matter how high the wall. No matter how thick. My love surmounts them all. Like a bird. Flying to you. Forever and ever.
I agree with everything. lv130 Feral Chaos might have a ton of HP but the rest of his stats are pretty low, he doesn't buff itself up to 999 stats or so, and though he can get instant EX and Assist after damaging you, it doesn't mean you're dead already. You can just keep moving around until his EX Mode vanishes (or keep owning him, he sucks at attacking anyways), and yeah, Garland can be very annoying and my characters were only killed due to being sandwich'd into 2 HP attacks, but just pay deep attention to what attacks they're going to use and Dodge when absolutely necessary. Or you could also keep beating the crap out of puppy Chaos and force him to Assist Change.
And yes, yes there's someone willing to help you with Puppy Chaos and turn him into the deadliest puppy you've ever seen!! ಠ3ಠ
First of all, get him to lv100. If you've used FC already, you'll see that he has EX and Assist locked, and his BRV constantly depletes over time. As you level up, you'll learn abilities that "disable" these negative effects, but of course they cost a heckload of CP like everything (100, 50 mastered). Personally, i went for EX and BRV disable. His EX Mode is VERY POWERFUL, and his unique set of equipment boosts his EX Mode further, so it just fits perfectly. And the BRV depletion is seriously not to be underestimated...It's like having a permanent Bahamut (AUTO) on you, and so if you can't inflict damage for just a small amount of time your BRV can easily get halved or completely reduced to 0, even after your own Stage BRV gain.
As of the rest of his build, there are some good news and bad news about Feral Chaos. The bad news is that you can't take the luxury to equip abilities such like Speed Boost, Jump Boost, Multi-Air Slide, etc...there's seriously no space for them. But the good news is that you don't need them; Puppy Chaos, by itself, is HUGE and FAST. He can easily outrun even a Speed Boost++ Onion Knight and a single jump equals to like 3 jumps of a small character. So, you just need to equip the very basic stuff, and focus on the attacks. However, each attack takes like 30/50CP when mastered, so you can't equip all of them either even if you already disregarded all the non-basic abilities. Anyways, i'm not saying much here, perhaps just repeating what you already know, so i'll just share my Feral Chaos build along with some few descriptions about it:
Equipment (his unique set):
Endless Oblivion
Eternal Despair
Phantasmal Abyss
Cycle's End
-Rise of Discord: EX Mode Duration +40%, EX Revenge Duration +40%
Accessories (just an EX build with Hero's items for extra CP, very neccessary):
Attractorb
Pearl Necklace
HP = 100%
Large Gap in HP
Empty Assist Gauge
Pre-Assist
Hero's Spirit
Hero's Essence
Close To You
Center of the World
Abilities:
-BRV Attacks:
-Ground:
Vicious (fast, eats defense away, and all you'd need in the ground really)
-Air:
Brute Force (again, fast and defense-crunching)
Splinter (long-range attack, keeps pressure on opponent, can chase too if you don't outright smack them to a wall)
-HP Attacks:
-Ground:
Quo Vadis (very sweet attack that can be quickly used after a block or to punish, it's hard to avoid if the opponent is already doing something)
Via Dolorosa (THE VERY BEST attack you can use with Feral Chaos...long range, sends 2 HP attacks, you have entire control of the timing of the second attack, homing effect, even grants a magical guard; if he spammed this attack in 000, he'd be impossible to defeat)
-Air:
Lux Magnus (learn how to use it, and this attack is DEADLY too...at high-enough altitude (like 2 full jumps from F. Chaos) it moves fast enough that it's impossible to dodge; just make sure to keep holding Square and release it to inflict HP damage, if you don't release it won't do the HP hit)
-Actions:
Ground Evasion
Midair Evasion
Ground Block
Midar Block
Aerial Recovery
Controlled Recovery (works well for avoiding full combos and quick-countering, plus it's just 10CP)
Free Air Dash
Evasion Boost (it's very sweet and i had enough remaining CP)
-Support (pretty much the only support abilities you'd ever need):
EX Core Lock On
Assist Lock On
-Extra (no space for any Critical boosting):
Disable BRV Reduction
Disable EX Gauge Lock
EXP to HP
Oh and Summon: Bahamut (activate at the beginning of EX Burst, epic results)
And that's my Feral Puppy Chaos c: I sacrifice lots of useful abilities but it's a requirement to give space to even more useful ones. Adding the second Hero's Essence is not worth it, since it only gives you another 15CP and you need at least another 30CP to be able to equip any other useful ability.
My own SSS Rank Feral Chaos Friend Card (which uses this identical build) was able to defeat my WHOLE team of 5 characters in a row, Feral Chaos included, so yeah, you can definetly trust in the power of this build XD

My strategy was to keep in the Air and Thunderfall the life out of him...and it actually worked. And if Feral Chaos came near, i used my assist to knock him back down to the floor and continue Thunderfalling. Cyclone got me because I thought I could time my assist meatshield well enough. Nope.
Accessories aside I was actually looking at a similar set up, but I've never used Lux Maginus so I substituted that for My Assistness and I use Auto Recover as opposed to Aerial Recover. I had Recovery attack instead of Evasion boost. =D (Today was EXP&AP Bonus day so I leveled up F.Chaos)
EDIT: (Man)Lightning is a joke between my locals, because Lightning is manlier than Firion =D and she's pretty damn manly without that cutscene. Like in all of 012.
No matter how high the wall. No matter how thick. My love surmounts them all. Like a bird. Flying to you. Forever and ever.
When it comes to fighting Feral Chaos it is easy to spam away
Jecht combos that lead to HP attacks work well
Garland's cyclone is good
Onion Knight's meteor
Vaan windburst + crossbow
Yuna's megaflare
Most if not all characters can spam hp, or brave to hp attacks to kill him.
People can even get Smiting Soul, and rape Feral Chaos in under a min.
Seems like really "enjoyed the view" XD But yeah, Feral Chaos' AI is so ridiculous and dumb that you can easily lock-spam him with several attacks and there's nothing he'll do. I took down about 10000HP by just repeated uses of Shining Wave from WoL. I could've continued for more but i felt like it was such a boring method against the "ultimate boss". lol
However, do NOT expect this to be the case if you ever fight against a SSS Rank Feral Chaos (and maybe just a Maximum difficult Vicious one). The little puppy has really learned how to Dodge and Block properly, sometimes taking full advantage of its size to get through your attacks. And don't try to run from him as he'll really lead you down the path of sorrow (Via Dolorosa). lol
And yours is an interesting build then c: I didn't choose the Assist Lock because i just can't make a build that works both ways, as each build i make, EX or Assist, focuses much on the Special Accessories, be it Close To You/Center of the World or Together As One/Side By Side, and so trying to use both, or even half of each, would negate each other (i'm much better at leaving it with no EX or Assist boosting, in any case), but if you can make it work, then go ahead and enjoy your little puppy beast of ultimate destruction!! :D lol
And while Lightning sure is manly in several instances...it isn't any difficult to be manlier than Firion D: Even Cecil is manlier than him, and he wears lipstick .-. lol

I had relied on Assists instead of Bravery, just because I like Garland assist and i just tossed my enemies around the stage. Though in all honesty, I like your build better, Lux Maginus is just a pain on higher level dodging >=(, I used to use the Ventus move, which while limited in range kept Golbez outta mah face! But the Accessories really just f*ck people's days! I'm beating 105's easy in Quick Battle with Feral Chaos, he may even become part of my team! Not even Golbez scares me anymore, though Sephy still throws me around but he only hurts me for Brave, I still beat him 8/10.
About Firion's estrogen levels
I guess, but Cecil wasn't supposed to wear lipstick, (I use his DLC costume =D). BTW is 3rd Birthday good? Cause I want Lightning's DLC, but I don't want to spend $30 on a costume.
Speaking of DLC, which is you fav? Right now, I'm LOVING the Empress of Heaven. I think I might actually get a PSN card just for that costume, and then I can get Salsa Bartz when that comes out =D.

Ventus Ire is a bad attack, in my opinion. While very fast, it is very short-ranged and easy to avoid; it won't work one bit while fighting against a real player, unless you manage to avoid a slow-recovery attack and have plenty of time to hit them, and in such case it's much better to either jump and use Lux Magnus, or land and use Quo Vadis, depending on where you are.
I only use Assist strategies when i have a very good strategy with them, and it's worth to sacrifice the EX Mode for it. For example, with Cecil i can use either Radiant Wings or Paladin Force, knock the opponent to the ground, call for Kain assist, which will automaticly hit the opponent as they're wall-rushed, initiate Assist Chase thingy, and then Cecil follows for another Radiant Wings or Paladin Force; Paladin Force -> Kain Assist -> Paladin Force can be extremely deadly when i use it, as i have Alexander as my summon, so it equals death with over 4000BRV XD Not only that, but i can use Kain's Jump in combination to Dark Flame...and unless you manage to hide under something and side-jump the flame, there's no way you'll be able to dodge both. Sure, Cecil's EX Mode is VERY AWESOME, giving an epic increase in damage and the ability to do magnificent combos...but i think i do much better and faster combos with assist.
I haven't played 3rd Birthday, but some of my friends have said it's FREAKING AWESOME. A bit short, but worth it...So yeah o3o
And i see there are now more DLCs than i have D8 I'll have to do some...special business to obtain them eventually >3> Anyways, i only have the KH ones, Lightning, Laguna...and my favorite one right now, Helmless Warrior of Light. I really want to get Cecil's DLC costume though ;( That'd really be my favorite one of them all.

Are the codes reusable? because I can PM you the code my FFIV game came with, and then you can has the greatest costume of all time for men.
I swear the Empress's costume is soooooooooo perfect for her, and I want it! Nyehhhh! WOL's is cool, but I like his Classic Red so much better. So. Much. Better. Though DLC EX mode looks better than Knight Ex Mode, just sayin'
Ventus Ire is a bad attack, but when fighting CPUs, it's funnier to watch them dodge out then dodge back into it cause Garland's Cyclone just appeared. But Lux is really fun for small stages, Phantom Train NOT included >.>. My Cecil is a beatstick, all I have on him is multipliers and damage ups
