Gallbladder surgery...

Post by GyppyGirl2021 »

...Oh my God, I am SO glad I won't have to go through this again.

For the past... eh, six weeks or so, I've been slaving away at my computer, trying to give my body time to heal from having an organ removed. This ordeal wouldn't be half as bad if the incision hadn't decided to reopen after we pulled the staples, leaving me to stay at home and recover from THAT.

Needless to say, I'm glad it's almost all over with. This has been the LONGEST six weeks of my life and the only good thing I got out of it was a friend of mine indirectly getting me into BlazBlue (which might not be such a good thing if you think about it since it's left me feeling rather conflicted in multiple ways, I'll only go into detail if you want me to).

...And I'm sure that those of you who have had more major surgeries will probably laugh at me for complaining this much, but don't I have a right to whine? :P

Speaking of which, who else here has had surgery? And if so, what kind? This is an odd topic of conversation at best, but I'm intrigued by the medical science, so...

Welcome back, glad you've recovered!

I had surgery when I was a kid... I really don't remember, some kind of hernia or something... Recovery was annoying though..

In what way do you feel conflicted about BlazBlue? I haven't played Continuum Shift yet, but in Calamity Trigger really the only thing I found annoying was that Rachel was some kind of godlike mary sue that made every other character in the story totally irrelevant (I'm not a huge Rachel fan to begin with). By the end it became clear she's not the only one on that level though... It's weird there's going to be new Guilty Gear now, too...

I'm glad I'm recovering too. They said that the wound should've taken a lot longer than it did to heal... this entire ordeal has been miracle after miracle, even with complications. From the start, I've been recovering WAY faster than anyone anticipated. XD

Well, the issue is... one of the reasons I'm conflicted is that I like the game, I watch the story modes on Youtube and all, but... I don't want to play it. I'm not a big fan of fighting games in general, primarily because by comparison, they make me look like the best RTS player there ever was (and if you know how I am with RTS, you'll understand this analogy). It does help that I don't have a PS3 or 360, but I do plan to borrow my adopted brother's for Tales of Graces when it comes out, so meh...

And yes, I totally agree with you on Rachel. I can't stand her. In either game. >>

Most of my other conflicts revolve around character issues like pairings and such... XD

Story mode was designed to be novice-clearable I think. Also the game lets you use the r stick directions as shortcuts for complex attacks, so anyone can play it kinda like Smash Bros... And like anything you get better with practice.

Well, that and I was losing interest in .hack. I think that BlazBlue has somewhat increased my interest, though... see "things that remind you of .hack" thread for more information. :P

...If you put it like that, then it's really tempting. Of course, I still have to get over the level of unpleasant euphemisms included with the game's dialogue. :P

Unpleasant euphemisms? Some of the translation was over the top (like Arch Enemy => "Nox Nyctores" or whatever, and anything Rachel said), but I'm not sure I know what you mean... Nikuman??

I meant all the foul language and stuff. I'm not used to games with that level of swearing. XD

Because I love you.

And now that you've registered here, you have to post something .hack related. xP

What's with this sudden insurgence of people who can't handle swearing in games? Don't you hear it often enough in real life that it should stop bothering you by now?... But, then again I'm a horrible example... Living around Detroit and all.

If you're talking about my sensitivity, I don't really like swearing in general (even though I have a pretty foul mouth on the internet when it comes to it... *sweatdrop*), but there are some levels I'm more comfortable with than others. It doesn't really *bother* me, just disconcerts me a bit for a while.

As long as there's no F-word, though, I'll deal with it. xP

(and that part is wholly my mother's fault. It's pretty much the only word she'll actively forbid.)

Somehow in the jump from PS2 to PS3 they feel the need to add it, too. Like, there was some unofficial memo and the rules of what Sony would approve totally changed. MGS3 had some perfectly fine R-rated English... in the Japanese version. In the English version it was removed. In MGS4, which had nothing like that in the Japanese version, they started just making up places to add f-bombs.

Surprising, seeing as its the funniest word in the English language. Its a Noun, Adjective, Verb, Adverb, Announcement. Like when I cut my lip shaving this morning, I announced it.

You don't need to apologize as long as she doesn't see it. If I get caught using the word, I'll probably get grounded for life... but I don't even say "hell" offline, so I don't think I need to worry. XD
