This is pretty much the greatest thing to happen in the history of ever aside from the day I was born. You guys now have TWO reasons to live.

Only two reasons to live?
There's plenty more reasons, just takes common sense, which might i add, is not so common these days.

I must admit, I would have agree with the game part of AT's comment.

This game was announced like 2 months ago, but this trailer is new. I have been following this game since its been announced. Its apparently going to be more like the Japanese localization more than the American one, meaning all the quests they took out for the US one, we are now getting.

I only want to see both Persona 2's to be ported now, then I'll actually have some excitement.

I could have gotten into persona if it werent for the whole demon and posession/pentagram thing.....And the fact the game makes fun of God and Jesus. that little fact just really killed it for me. If I do play persona it'll be with a frown on my face... Maybe this ones different from the other one.

As one game, of course.

This is the opening. Not the trailer.

Persona doesn't make fun of god and Jesus. They don't even use Jesus. They have something similar to him but his name is messiah. You probably mean Nocturne Persona uses mythological and religious figures. It never uses God or Jesus as personae though. The only well know Christian persona used are as follows: Beelzebub/Baal Zebul.
Lucifer/Helel
Satan
I can't think of anymore. So Persona really isn't that bad. It's a good game that teaches you about human emotions and tries to show you how to better yourself. Plus it's one of the reasons I'm passing mythology.

One would hope, but the possibility of both parts sold separately again is there unfortunately, I wouldn't mind much so long as I get to have them officially translated.

Quote of the year.

In other news, don't care about Persona 1 too much. Give me Innocent Sin and an updated Eternal Punishment on the PSP, thanks.

I really don't see how a game having "demon possession" and "pentagrams" in a game is making fun of Jesus. You're trying too hard to be offended, and you should probably read a thing or two about religion in general.

Even if it did make fun of Jesus, what in Japan doesn't? Hell, .hack basically presupposes that Jesus has been replaced by some guy's virtual fantasy daughter.

I'll run through the main series and the spin-offs that have reached(or will reach) the UK(plus Devil Summoner and Soul Hackers because I can) :-

Megami Tensei: Final boss is Lucifer
Megami Tensei 2: Final boss is God
Shin Megami Tensei: Final boss is Seraph Michael or Asura Ou depending on which path you take. On Neutral you fight both, S. Michael being the last one.
Shin Megami Tensei II: Final boss is God no matter what path you pick. Main character is a false Messiah too.
Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer's Call: Final boss on all but TDE is a manifestation of the creative power of God. TDE it's Lucifer, but the context is ...interesting.

Persona: Final boss is some guy.
Persona 2: Final boss is Nyarlathothep. Both games.
Persona 3: Final boss is Nyx
Persona 4: Final boss is Izanami

Devil Summoner: Final boss is some princess
Soul Hackers: Final boss is Manitou

Raidou Kuzunoha 1: Final boss is a freaky mutant demon ship giant robot...thing. A 'Soulless God'.
Raidou Kuzunoha 2(Vastly superior to 1 in terms of gameplay from the looks of it): Final boss is another freaky Japanese god thing.

Digital Devil Saga: Final boss is Harihara
Digital Devil Saga 2: Final boss is Brahman

So yeah, you sure do spend a lot of time beating on God. 2 games, 3 at best. Of goodness only knows how many.

Persona 3 was able to get The Journey and The Answer into one game perfectly fine, even though they have two different protagonists. The same can be done with Persona 2.

They're sequels to each other. I guess you can play them separately, but you don't really get the plot if you just play the second part. Think Higurashi, and you'll get what's going on here.

If two were made I would like you to be forced to play both IS and EP one after the other. However if choosing by the main menu is done like in FES with the Answer it would be better if A) You were forced to unlock EP by beating IS or B) There was actual benefits beyond understanding the story in EP for playing IS.
