The end of the world has been predicted too many times (2000, 06/06/06 and many many more…). I’m just surprised people still believe this kind of things, you would think people have actually learned something.

Just the other day. Just like last week and on and on... You do know they have descendants…right? Many of them speak mayan as well as Spanish or English (depending if they live of tourism) and they still follow the traditions of their culture. I could keep talking about this, but that's not what this topic is about.

But dipshits misinterpreted the Mayans and thought that the end of their calender meant the end of time.
I’m glad there are few persons who actually understood their calendar.

I just love these topics or rather the standard ignorance that comes up when it's discussed. I'm always reminded of how all of these predictions of the world ending share one factor: none have ever came true. This is incomplete, but it should give you an idea of what I'm talking about. Failed Predictions

So yeah, believe it if you want to be what I would consider a gullible idiot who can't think for themselves.

Well, we're humans. We think we can forcast anything. Curiosity always involks us to either study about it, predict it's outcome, or to just simply place it as a "great" discovery. Nevertheless, they're more important things going on right now than worrying about the end of the world. U.S. is still in the slumps, buisness is being affected all over the world, people are still dying over stupid, idiotic reasons, etc. If 2012 is the Death of an age, and the birth of a new one, as stated by AT, then let's hope it's a damn good one.

Bottom line to me is that knowing when it will end changes nothing. It either happens or it doesn't. That and I find it amusing that with all of our failed predictions, people still keep trying. You'd think that after several thousand years of attempting to do so (and failing), we'd know it just isn't predictable like that. lolz

THE WORLD IS DEFINITELY GONNA END BECAUSE my alphabet soup spelled out "Sleep" today WTF IS UP WITH THAT LOL IT'S TOTALLY A SIGN of the apocalypse.

Or, maybe my soup is telling me I need more sleep.

Which isn't a stretch. I only got like, two hours of sleep last night ololo.

...Now that I think of it, maybe it actually said "slep," not "sleep."

Stfu.

...Okay, all kidding aside. I think it'll be quite a few years before the planet's atmosphere becomes so ungodly unstable that organisms start kicking the bucket. That kind of descent takes time, doesn't it? Three years' time is the equivalent of the blink of an eye as far as the universe is concerned. (Yes. I have asked it, and it has told me. Um, no. I'm just conjecturing.) When the planet dies (and we all know it will), it's going to take some thousands (millions? billions? idk I suck at math) of years. Not just three. Nothing is over in three years' time. Except for like, I dunno, marriage.

...Unless aliens come and blow the place up OH GOD I HOPE THEY DO. PLEASE ABDUCT ME. *_*

0.o Pervert.

If your alphabet cereal had a full paragraph spelling out the winning lotto numbers in hex code would you listed to it then? Or do they mostly say "OOOOOOOOOOOO"?

But seriously, there's like a thousand things that could kill us that would take less that 3 months to wipe us all out, most of which by our own hand! Super engineered smallpox anyone?

Don't forget Stands.

Green Day comes out and it has a psycho for a user and there's a good chance we're totally screwed. Then there's Silver Chariot Requiem, or indeed any out-of-control Requiem Stand. And of course Made In Heaven.

All we can hope is someone has Gold Experience, Sticky Fingers or Weather Report by then.

Look, the planet Earth, as we know it, is a thin slab of rock floating on a load of magma in a seemingly endless void orbiting a giant flaming ball of nuclear fusion that is bombarding us with radiation daily with the only thing protecting us being a barrier made of AIR.

We made it this far.

Yes, but would that affect the planet? >_> I always interpreted "End of the World lulz" as meaning the planet itself goes kaboom and/or becomes permanently and inherently incapable of sustaining life... But I guess I was only interpreting it in a specific context. >_>

Alphabet soup, not alphabet cereal. >_> (My kid loves alphabet soup and we happened to be eating it that night.) I didn't know there was an alphabet cereal... Wait a minute...are you quoting Family Guy? But if my soup and/or cereal told me the winning numbers to the lotto, I'd so play 'em! Or if it said "OOOOOO" I'd probably just try to play all 0's...but I don't know if it's possible to play zero's because I've never played the lotto before and this state's only had a lottery for a few years at most...

Come on, tell me it wouldn't rock if aliens came and started blowing **** up. >_>

I've been dead before, and it doesn't really seem like there's and afterlife. Car accident, my lungs collapsed from hitting the steering wheel before the bag went off.... You get real tired like when you wake up and you don't feel like moving, then everything stops hurting. But holy **** shock paddles aren't fun.

Not that I believe in the afterlife or anything, but that's not being dead. Otherwise...uh...you'd be dead.

That's near death, not actual death.

My sister has actually died and been brought back, but it was clinical death brought on by epileptic fits, or w/e the term they use for them now is.

I guess the person died but was revived later, just like me at birth, but like you said, it's not classified as dead unless you remain dead.

Pardon me, I didn't realize legal forces controlled life and death. If you're alive right now, you weren't dead.

Epic PWN. XD

What do I think? The government will send a Nuke right into the heart of Yellowstone national park and cause the super volcano to blow up and kill us all, then they will blame it on being 2012. :P Woot government cover ups FTW!
