.hack//LINK - Likes & Dislikes? *Definite Spoilers*
Hello, for those of you keeping up with the chapters of .hack//LINK, I thought I would start a "Likes and Dislikes" thread.
For me, I would have to say I rather enjoyed seeing the fight between Fluegel and Kite. What I don't like is that Kite "Data Drained" him. Wouldn't that mean that he had the Twilight Bracelet again? And if he did, wouldn't Aura had to give it to him again, since this is a different version of "The World"? Or is it now just a part of his character's set skills, such as Azure Kite/Azure Flame Kite could Data Drain in G.U.?
But that's just me. What do you like so far about the .hack//LINK manga? What are your dislikes?

If you remember, Kite had the Bracelet ever since the end of Quarantine, so that's not a big deal.
However, I still hate this whole damn manga.

Can't really say what I like and hate. Until now; I too, hate the most things about LINK. But maybe they could change my opinion
with a plottwist or something like that. Maybe everything is different from what it seems...But for now I don't like it. I have to
admit that I don't know all chapters released so far; only the first four, so maybe it's getting better later...atleast I hope so.
...Well, the art is great. Or at least I like it. It's better than the Twilight manga drawing style or GU+ imo.

I like Fluegel, but... that's really it. Not much else to enjoy about Link so far.
Re: .hack//LINK - Likes & Dislikes? *Definite Spoilers*
yea i hate it too
espically the fact that some else other than Kite can use Data Drain, but the fact that someone actually entered the game physically is just plain gay to me >>, it was better when it was just their minds/conscienceness.

I forgot that! - I like Fluegel pretty much too. There are some other members of Schicksal that could be interessting but so far I like Fluegel'sAnime Monkey wrote:I like Fluegel, but... that's really it. Not much else to enjoy about Link so far.
character the most. Besides that, monocles are great. But I still don't like Tokio... I hope he will get some character development...
Re: .hack//LINK - Likes & Dislikes? *Definite Spoilers*
Oh yes, I do remember that, I just didn't know it would transfer itself over to the next two versions. I mean, wasn't R:1's data lost in that big CC Corp fire?AuraTwilight wrote:If you remember, Kite had the Bracelet ever since the end of Quarantine, so that's not a big deal.

Fluegel seems like a cross between Ovan and Axel from Kingdom Hearts II to me. He has a really intellectual side to him, but then you'll see him goofing off and not taking things seriously, or pouting like a kid.Anime Monkey wrote:I like Fluegel, but... that's really it. At this point I can say I like Fluegel. Tokio however, I do not. I just hope and pray that he's not the star of the third console game installment. >.>

The R:1 data was actually lost in the failed RA Plan, but the fire was on the same day, so you know, whatever.

I like the way the art in it, but i really kinda don't like the storyline cause it's too random... I also hate the fact that Azure Kite and Kite are in the same dimension, blah blah blah...and the fact that Haseo is back to his whole "TRIEDGE!" phase
Re: .hack//LINK - Likes & Dislikes? *Definite Spoilers*
I'm guessing his data was either altered somehow due to the Chrono Core, or its an A.I. generated by perhaps a conversion of Aura to the new version R:X?Haseo{Terror of Death} wrote:I like the way the art in it, but i really kinda don't like the storyline cause it's too random... That might be stretching it a bit also though.

The first thing you said was correct. The chrono core is what caused Haseo to lose his memory of the events from R:2. Also, the A.I. thing is basically AT's theory as well.Midori wrote:I'm guessing his data was either altered somehow due to the Chrono Core, or its an A.I. generated by perhaps a conversion of Aura to the new version R:X?Haseo{Terror of Death} wrote:I like the way the art in it, but i really kinda don't like the storyline cause it's too random... Also, I love the fact that Kite and his badass counterpart are in the same realm. We might actually see those two team up hopefully. It sets up my equation quite nicely.
Kite+Azure Kite=OWNED.

Re: .hack//LINK - Likes & Dislikes? *Definite Spoilers*
It's a bit hard for me to grow a liking to this series. At first, it was appealing to see that Haseo and Kite would be making a reappearance. Seeing Kite come back early warmed me up a bit to the series. However, seeing him out of commission so early disheartened me a bit. I passed it off as simply to let other characters take the spotlight.
Next, I was greatly anticipating for Haseo himself to come back. He is, after all, my favorite character. However, seeing his lack of X-form and the resurgence of his past attitude and whiny need for Shino [and also the fact that he apparently sees her in Tokio from what I gather] really dissuaded me.
The art itself is a sight for sore eyes. I greatly appreciate it, at least more then I did with the Legend of the Twilight.
If there is a defining reason why I would dislike this series, it would be for Tokio himself. He embodies everything I hate about this series. I care little to nothing about him or his existence. I never really liked his character: the teenage prodigy gamer who mystically gets transferred into a game by a mysterious girl whom he is infatuated with. I expect to see this kind of character in a poorly written fanfiction. And on the note of his appearance, I dislike the tape on his cheeks and the goggles that he would probably never use or wear. There is nothing I like about him at all, and this fact greatly deters me from liking this series.
The story itself seemed good in the beginning. The members of Schicksal seemed so vibrantly likable. However, this all went down the drain when the characters from the past reappear in their undeveloped stages. It seemed as if the writers did it for the sole purpose of recreating each of their defining fault in each of the heroes of the past (save for Kite) only to heighten Tokio. I predict that Tokio would be the one to "purify" them. This greatly sickens me, seeing as how I hate that goggle-wearing hero at this point. The whole fact that Tokio gets in the game through some magical-like means seems so unreasonably dumb.
There is the chance that all of the reoccurring characters are AIs, but this doesn't necessarily make the series any better in my eyes. I would like it best if the reoccurring characters were the real people, seeing as how the main draw factor was the reappearance of past heroes for me. Nevertheless, the story has potential, but the execution of it is flawed.
All in all, my dislikes of the series outweighs the likes. Though, I guess people could take advantage of this strange universe of .hack to see the reactions of Kite and Haseo meeting, or any of the clashing of different characters of different series. I'm hoping that I warm up to the series in the future. I really hope so.
Except for Tokio, I'll probably always hate him.

Wow, sir, you pretty much stated it perfectly. The main problem here, is Tokio. He's the worst kind of Marty Stu.

Likes: The appearance of old major characters, the fact that Tsukasa has his Guardian back, and the fact that Kite's appearance has been upgraded.
Disklikes: Tokio's apperence, how Link is goes to Chrono Cores before we can even get Tokio to develop a smidge (not including the stepping on a monster, that was just sad).
I'm interested to see how they actually get this to become a great series, let alone game (hopefully). Although I agree with Talc Moirae on the whole "gamer into the game" thing, they could have done something a little more...well, developed. I was hoping to see that the new generation of gaming would actually develop some neural type station, and Tokio won some type of sweepstakes and he was able to test a prototype of it out.
@Talc Moirae, Maybe Tokio got into the game much like Tsukasa did, a indused coma while playing the game causing his mind to be forced into the game (remember, Tsukasa mentioned that he could feel inside the game as well). If that's the case, I guess we're one coma away from our ultimate game experience.

I like that many of my favorite characters has come in the story, but the mess up thing about it is that the story suck. Let go back in time so we can stop Link from being made, then create a story of our own. We could use idea from our creative writing part of the forum.

Yeah, but Tsukasa's case was different. Tokio "Physically" entered the game, without being under the influence of a coma, or anything, which is an extremely stupid concept.@Talc Moirae, Maybe Tokio got into the game much like Tsukasa did, a indused coma while playing the game causing his mind to be forced into the game (remember, Tsukasa mentioned that he could feel inside the game as well). What I naturally don't like about it is that a chimpanzee could put my favorite characters together in a better story than this! dothack extends the bar, but this is just bananas (haha, ok bad pun).
