The character's skin colour shouldn't matter at all.

You should add the "all" option. Otherwise you will sound like your being racist.

One major difference between Japanese animation and everything else is that manga and anime in general do not physically identify a race of people or classify an individual or group of individuals as such. Instead, characters might wear different clothing, act in certain way, have an exaggerated accent to accomodate the difference in culture, slightly different skin color is reference to the setting the story takes place, and persons name. For the most part this would apply to all Japanese animation.

I'm moving this to the anime forum, but keep in mind that anime generally doesn't focus on race. Nationality is used sometimes to give the viewer a sense of location, but not race.

I agree with Maromi. Japan Isn't as diverse as America, so most anime has a cast of mainly Japanese people. The different races are used to say "We're not in Japan anymore."
