CAUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you use a Codebreaker to get these, you must follow these instructions carefully to get the weapons, otherwise you won't get them. It took alot of trial and error of strategy to get these, so listen up.
***IT IS HIGHLY RECCOMENDED THAT YOU DO MOST OF THIS IN VOL 3! HOWEVER, YOU MUST DO OVAN'S IN VOL 2 AS OVAN'S WEAPON (DEMON SLICE) CAN ONLY BE ABTAINED IN VOL 2 DUE TO MASSIVE GLITCHES IN VOL 3 WITH HIM!!!!!:
Avaliability:
-(+ -) = Able to do in Vol 2 and 3, but 2 is recomended.
-(- +) = Able to do in Vol 2 and 3, but 3 is reccomended.
-(- -) = Only able to do in Vol 2.
-(+ +) = Only able to do in Vol 3.
(SPHR)
(- +) 1. Sophora's Blades: Binding Chord: In order to obtain Binding Chord, first use the codebreaker code listed above for Sophora. Note that you can also play as her, but it really doesn't matter. First, enter the code and start the game. Since Sophora is such a low level player, all of this must be done in either Dol Dona or Mac Anu. Then when your game loads, you should:
A) Be Sophora
or
B) Have Sophora as an automatic member of your party. (Just a member. No member address. Sorry guys.)
If you are A) (Highly reccomended if you're doing this in Vol 2):
Head for Dol Dona and buy any Dual Blade from the Dol Dona weapon shop. Then equip it immidiately and head for your storage in Breg Epona (Dol Dona if you are playing Vol 2.) Then go to Canard and pull up your storage. When you look in your inventory, you'll see that it's not there. However, it is actually the first item in your equipment inventory, regardless of what the name says. Immidiately select the first item in your inventory and store it. And there you have it. You now have Binding Chord.
If you are B) (Only able to do in Vol 3):
Go to the town square in Dol Dona and purchase a Dual Sword for Sophora. Then walk up to her and give it to her as a gift. Check her equipment immidiately and change it to the new weapon. Next, trade her for Binding Chord. This time when you go to store the weapon, since you are Haseo, the weapon should be a visible item in your invo. MErely store it or hold onto it and bam. You got it.
(HRG)
(+ +) 2. Hiiragi's Fans: Peach Blossom: In order to obtain Peach Blossom, first use the codebreaker code listed above for Hiiragi. Note that you can also play as her, but it really doesn't matter. First, enter the code and start the game. Since Hiiragi is such a low level player, all of this must be done in either Dol Dona. NOTE THAT HIIRAGI'S FANS CAN ONLY BE OBTAINED DURING VOL 3!!!!! Then when your game loads, you should:
A) Be Hiiragi
or
B) Have Hiiragi as an automatic member of your party. (Just a member. No member address. Sorry guys.)
If you are A):
Head for Dol Dona and buy the Fan Jasper from the Dol Dona weapon shop. Then equip it immidiately and head for your storage in Breg Epona. Then go to Canard and pull up your storage. When you look in your inventory, you'll see that it's not there. However, it is actually the first item in your equipment inventory, regardless of what the name says. Immidiately select the first item in your inventory and store it. And there you have it. You now have Peach Blossom.
If you are B):
Go to the town square in Dol Dona and purchase a Fan Jasper for Hiiragi. Then walk up to her and give it to her as a gift. Check her equipment immidiately and change it to the new weapon. Next, trade her for Peach Blossom. This time when you go to store the weapon, since you are Haseo, the weapon should be a visible item in your invo. MErely store it or hold onto it and bam. You got it.
(GB)
(- +) 3. Gabi's Blade: King's Tail: In order to obtain King's Tail, first use the codebreaker code listed above for Gabi. Note that you can also play as him, but it really doesn't matter. First, enter the code and start the game. Gabi is a level 148 Edge Punisher, so you may do this in any of the 3 (or 5 if you're doing vol 3) towns. Then when your game loads, you should:
A) Be Gabi
or
B) Have Gabi as an automatic member of your party. (Just a member. No member address. Sorry guys. *major tear*)
If you are A):
Head for any town and buy any Broad Sword from any weapon shop. You now have King's Tail.
If you are B) (Only able to do in Vol 3):
Go to the town square in any town and purchase any Broad Sword for Gabi. Then walk up to him and give it to him as a gift. Check his equipment immidiately and change it to the new weapon. Next, trade him for King's Tail. This time when you go to store the weapon, since you are Haseo, the weapon should be a visible item in your invo. MErely store it or hold onto it and bam. You got it.
(SKK)
(- +) 4. Sakaki's Blade: Heavenly Dawn: In order to obtain Heavenly Dawn, first use the codebreaker code listed above for Sakaki. Note that you can also play as him, but it really doesn't matter. First, enter the code and start the game. Since Sakaki is such a low level player, all of this must be done in either Dol Dona or Mac Anu. You'll also notice that Vol 2 and 3 Sakaki's differ greatly, as in Vol 3, you are the Aida infected Sakaki as opposed to boring old plain Sakaki. Then when your game loads, you should:
A) Be Sakaki
or
B) Have Sakaki as an automatic member of your party. (Just a member. No member address. Sorry guys.)
If you are A):
Head for any town and buy any Broad Sword from any weapon shop. You now have Heavenly Dawn.
If you are B) (Only able to do in Vol 3):
Go to the town square in any town and purchase any Broad Sword for Sakaki. Then walk up to him and give it to him as a gift. Check his equipment immidiately and change it to the new weapon. Next, trade him for Heavenly Dawn. This time when you go to store the weapon, since you are Haseo, the weapon should be a visible item in your invo. MErely store it or hold onto it and bam. You got it.
(OVN)
(- -) 5. Ovan's Bayonet: Demon Slice: In order to obtain Demon Slice, first use the codebreaker code listed above for Ovan. Note that you can also play as him. Seeing as how this is only possible by in Vol 2 and because of a certain glitch that will be later mentioned, you MUST do this as Ovan. First, enter the code and start the game. Ovan is around lvl 90 or so if I recall, so this may be done in either Dol Dona or Mac Anu and ONLY Dol Dona or Mac Anu.. Then when your game loads, you should:
A) Be Ovan (This is the only way it can be obtained. Sorry.)
If you are A):
Head for Dol Dona or Mac Anu and buy any Bayonet from any weapon shop. Then equip it immidiately and head for your storage in Dol Dona. Then go to Canard and pull up your storage. When you look in your inventory, you'll see that it's not there. However, it is actually the first item in your equipment inventory, regardless of what the name says. Immidiately select the first item in your inventory and store it. And there you have it. You now have Demon Slice.
(THK)
(+ +) 6. Taihaku's Bayonet: The Magical Sword Maxwell: In order to obtain Maxwell, first use the codebreaker code listed above for Taihaku. Note that you can also play as him, but because of a certain glitch that will be mentioned later, YOU MUST DO THIS WITH TAIHAKU AS A PARTY MEMBER. First, enter the code and start the game. Taihaku is a level 113 Steam Gunner, so you may do this in any of the 5 towns. Then when your game loads, you should:
B) Have Taihaku as an automatic member of your party. (Just a member. No member address. This is the only way to do it. Sorry guys.)
If you are B):
Go to the town square in any town and purchase any Bayonet for Taihaku. Then walk up to him and give it to him as a gift. Check his equipment immidiately and change it to the new weapon. Next, trade him for Maxwell. This time when you go to store the weapon, since you are Haseo, the weapon should be a visible item in your invo. MErely store it or hold onto it and bam. You got it.
(SRS)
(- +) 6. Sirius's Gauntlet: Death Fist: In order to obtain Death Fist, first use the codebreaker code listed above for Sirius. Note that you can also play as him, but it really doesn't matter. FOR BETTER EFFECTIVENESS OF THIS TACTIC, IT IS RECOMENDED THAT YOU BE SIRIUS!!! First, enter the code and start the game. Since Sirius is such a low level player, all of this must be done in Dol Dona (Mac Anu doesn't sell gauntlets). Then when your game loads, you should:
A) Be Sirius
or
B) Have Sirius as an automatic member of your party. (Just a member. No member address. Sorry guys.)
If you are A):
Head for Dol Dona and buy any Gauntlet from any weapon shop. You now have Death Fist.

Next, trade him for Death Fist. This time when you go to store the weapon, since you are Haseo, the weapon should be a visible item in your invo. MErely store it or hold onto it and bam. You got it.

Glitches and FAQ:
During this process, there are several glitches and questions that have been asked. I will go through these in this section.
GLITCHES:
G1. When playing Vol 2, whenever you use one of the cheated characters as a party member, you cannot give them gifts. This will cause your game to freeze and thereby make you have to start all over.
G2. When playing as Taihaku using the character mod cheat, you cannot leave the area where the Chaos Gate is. If you do, your game will cease functioning during gameplay. You will not be able to move, open your inventory, or pause. Everything around you will continue and your camera will still work, but everything else will not work.
G3. You CANNOT play as Ovan or have Ovan in your party like other characters when trying it in Vol 3. If you try doing anything that involves interation, such as speaking to a shop clerk or trying to open your inventory, your game will freeze. Why this happens is beyond me, but you cannot do it. Plain and simple.
G4. When using a character who you can't get, you'll notice they have no eye shot picture like the rest of the characters. If you try and go see their status, this will cause your game to freeze. It is not recomended you try doing this.
G5. If you took Maxwell from Taihaku using a cheat stated above, then when you fight him in the Arena, he will have whatever weapon you gave him.
FAQ:
1. Q: Can I fight as all the characters stated above?
A: No. Infact, you can't play as most of them. I've only tested a few so far, but as far as I can tell, none of them work properly in battle, so it'd be a waste of time. That and your game would freeze.
2. Q: Do any of these weapons register on my Ryu Book list?
A: No. Seeing as how you're not supposed to get these in the first place, they would obviously not register. Does that make them non-functional? NOPE! They all work fine so far...With the exception of the untested King's Tail.
3. Q: Since I can't play as the characters, does that mean that they can't fight with me?
A: No. So far I've only tested Taihaku and unknown4 (unknown4 is actually Haseo's First Form, but it has no weapons and it just slides accross the ground.), and they both work fine. However, I'm positive Ovan doesn't work at all. You can try the other characters, but for now, those two I know work for sure.
4. Q: I got the weapons....What now?
A: Use them! That was the whole point, right? They're all fantastic weapons and they all work nicely, so why just let them sit in your inventory?
5. Q: Are there any other "special weapons" in the series that you can't get besides the ones mentioned?
A: Not counting Empty Shadow and Empty Mirage which are also obtainable in Vol 2 for free use by using these methods with Azure Balmung and Azure Orca, Nope. These are all the weapons you're not supposed to be able to get. Nala from moontree is using a common lance, and everyone else has common weapons (With the exception of characters like Zelkova who you earn later on in Vol 3 that actually have Rarity 5 weapons.)
6. Q: Can I sell these weapons in my guild shop?
A: No. All these weapons are rarity 5 weapons, meaning you cannot sell them or exchange them for money.
7. Q: Can I do these proccesses over and over so I can get multiples of each weapon?
A: No. There is only one of each weapon, meaning that once you lose it, it's gone for good. So you'll either have to start a new game or move on without it.
8. Q: I tried the method above and it didn't work. Halp?
A: Check back at what you did and try again. I've tested these methods multiple times, so they should work without any problems. If any of the problems continue, contact me.
9. Q: Do I need to start a new game to do all of this? D:
A: Nope. You can do all of the weapons (with the exception of Ovan's weapon if you're doing Vol 3) on the current file you're using for both Vol 2 and 3. I juststarted a new game cause I wanted to. <3
10. Q: I tried doing the gift giving method in Vol 2 and my game froze. WTF?
A: This is why I said Vol 3 is reccomended. In Vol 2, you can only obtain the weapons by being the characters and using the first method. If you attempt to give them gifts, the game crashes.

You now have Death Fist.
If you are B) (Only able to do in Vol 3):
Go to the town square in Dol Dona and purchase any Gauntlet for Sirius. Then walk up to him and give it to him as a gift. Check his equipment immidiately and change it to the new weapon.

Gotcha. Thanks!
Hey, with this, can you check out if there's any truth to the rumor that Ovan is an Adept Rogue who can use swords as well? There's been this rumor floating around that you can see a second, blade weapon in his inventory with some sort of cheat, and I'd like to either confirm or dispel this rumor, if possible.
Re: "Unobtainable" Weapons Guide.
AT and others have already denied this rumor. Like you said, it would be done with a cheat, which would make it non canon. either way, the rule of thumb is that that blade is a manifestation of Aida, and Ovan is no other Class than Steam Gunner.

I see... thank you.
Re: "Unobtainable" Weapons Guide.
As he said. Ovan is just a plain old steam gunner. Nothing special about him. (Excluding the AIDA infection in the left arm)
Re: "Unobtainable" Weapons Guide.
its funny I started that rumor so long ago and it still lives XD *feels known* but in my heart I still think ovan is..but in the games data he is not >_>:

Re: "Unobtainable" Weapons Guide.
When I wen to give it to them, there was no trade tab, just talk and cancel? Can you find what the problem is?
Re: "Unobtainable" Weapons Guide.
Sometimes it depends on the character. Here's what combos I did that worked well when trading with them:
Gabi and Sophora
Hiiragi and Sakaki
Taihaku and Sirius
Try those and see if they work. If not, then just become the character instead and buy a new weapon for them and then put the new weapon in your storage. If more problems ensue, e-mail me:
onilevel1@yahoo.com
Also, you might wanna try doing them one at a time on your team if things keep acting up.
