Gurren Lagann

Post by Lemartes »

Hello all (first post in a long while)!!!

I was just wondering if anyone else watched any of this positively EPIC series! If so, comments?

I just finished watching episode 26 (2nd to last episode) and I am absolutely in awe, this is hands down one of the best anime I have seen in a long time <been watching anime for a long time, my first anime was Ranma 1/2, hope that gives you a frame of reference> and I would highly recommend it.

It better be epic, it was made by Gainax.

I haven't watched it yet, but it's on my to-do list along with a few other anime. I'm not really a fan of the art style, but I'll probably just think Fooly Cooly thoughts and be able to tolerate it.

I felt the same way about the artwork at first-- but by episode 4 I was so into the emerging story I couldn't stop from watching it all.

And man, I am sure glad I decided to wait it out. :)

I as well am a fan of the best anime evar(or at least best of the year so far IMHO). Gurren Lagann started off epic and became even more epic as it continued. It sucked that I had to stop over the summer, but I was able to catch up and finish it. The show is so full of GAR. Kamina, Simon, and Kittan are some of the coolest characters I've come across in awhile. the show is full of memorable characters, battles, and the dialogue, which is full of memorable quotes.

Watch this show. Its full of EPIC WIN!

This anime was probably the best mecha anime that I've seen so far in 20 years. And I am suprised that this beat Gundam Seed's fan ratings last month on the final episode too.

After watching the series, everyone was arguing that Gurren Lagann will surpass the power of Ideon and Bellcross, but I'd probably agree with them after the final episode.

Gurren Lagann has a power that can surpass the power of Ide from Ideon and Heroic Tribe Bellcross.

But also, Simon's character development throughout the story made a lot of fans feel just the same way he did.

I've enjoyed watching this anime!
If you like mecha animes for even just a little bit, this anime is a must-see.

The first episode was a bit yay-cool, but episode after episode, the action goes higher and higher and higher and sometimes I was só into it, even my adrenaline got pumped up!
Also I like how they added the ages in it, like  they start out as young teens and in the last episode they're all in their late 50's.

Definetly a recommendation if you're into mecha.

I'm still watching this anime, but I must say it's SOOO Epic it's more than epic... it's just too good to be described in words, the characters, the battles, the euphoria... everything is simply amazing...
