No. i actualy love the way they mixed both.
there are lots of games with that kind of graphics lately and most of them doesn´t look as good as the G.U ones.

Roots doesn't have amazing graphics, but they don't suck either. I see no room for complaints

Ok, first-off - are we talking about roots, G.U, or the Trilogy?
Second off (if we're talking about G.U) - I think the graphics are excellent (especially for the PS2), when playing the //IMOQ series I thought "this should be cel-shaded" and the //G.U series answered my prayers.
Third off (if we're talking about Trilogy) - it looks excellent and unique, what's the problem with them?
If it bothers you THAT much then don't play/watch the games/series/film.

I liked the graphics as they were for both Trilogy trailors as well as for GU and Roots was good graphics for an anime series, though I do think that they should have made it more like the GU style at times. Anyways, I don't see any way they could be better or be "too 3-D", no offense.
