Possible defect.

Post by Dragoon2044 »

So like many of you, I ventured to the local retailer to pick up my copy of .hack//G.U. volume 3 Redemption. With much anticipation and excitement i started the game up on my system. However I have only played an hour into the game and then suddenly the game crashes during one of the CG cut scenes. It happened during  'the return of sakaki' movie in the Serpent of Lore. I saved a new file and loaded my game once more. During the same point my game that crashed just prior, the screen blinked for a second and then continued on normally. The game did not crash a 2nd time. Has anyone had this same problem? Perhaps I should return mine for a new copy. Or is this simply one of those rare instances...?

I had the same problem, so I just skipped the scene and it works just fine.

Has happened to me as well. *Sighs* It was at a really good part and then the cursed White screen!
I waited for it to go and alas it did not. Restarting my PS2 was so hard for me thinking that I might have not saved it. I did no worries...

I hope no more white screens pop up...

The scene in particular flashes back to when Sakaki revealed an item that contained AIDA. When you see the AIDA egg, the crash comes up a few seconds after that.

Few people had the glitch. Which they couldn;t see the clips from that point so, Zero uploaded a video above of the full clip where it froze. n.n NOT EVERYONE got the glitch, which I think they should of tested the game better before sending it out.~

EDIT: Here's the cutscene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBZAGO-K_3A

It freezes at 1:30, where you can see the white screen.
Thank you for that, Zero. I think I will choose to exchange mine for a new copy. -_- I am a little bit of a perfectionist. So if i keep my current copy and I know the glitch is there when i could have a copy that doesn't have that problem it would just bother the hell out of me. I wasn't sure this problem was so widespread. Its not but, I know I'm not the only one to run into that problem.

So, if the glitch did happen to you

Would you return it for another copy?

Dragoon's post tells me it's a random crash, so no, because that also tells me the crash is in every copy.

Well Luckily i havent gotten that freeze up, even kept replaying it to make sure. Although I gotta say Ive encountered another possible defect. On the Bridge of Tartarga, As they are talking, the caption wouldnt be what they were saying. They'd be saying "oh no!" but the caption would freeze and say a random line like " What?! No one ever talked about this?" and would stay there for a a few moments then return to the normal caption text. Anyone else have this problem? be advise this happened near the events leading to the final boss fight in the last root town.
