I like the fact that so many other people play the same game but its turns out so different in the end you can truly be you own character in how you treat and talk people to but most of all I like the freedom. you can almost do whatever you like and it seems like each game they make you get even more freedom.

The Epitaph of Twilight
The story behind each series
the gameplay is great
the fact its a simulated MMO is pretty cool.
I love the characters.

Here's one hell of a reason:

I was at a friend house yesterday,and I brought .hack//G.U. Vol 1 with me,and my memory card,so I began playing.
I had done this for the three days before, because we had a tendancy to stop doing everything and watch whatever was on the tulevison, and they seemd to like .hack.
Anyways, but the end of this day,my friend Joe came up to me and asked me,quite honestly

"Crow, are those reak people you're playing with one there?"

This made me realize exactly how well some parts of the game portray an online game.
And that is a big part of the reason I love .hack// so much.
that, and the fact that it's connected me with so many people, like JOT,bookey,AT,Rengeki,Zero....*not leaving names out on perpose...just don't want to rant*

No.
He's actually a very smart person.
If it was you're intention to make it seem so,that really wasn't that funny.

The only things he saw me playing were arena matches against Kuhn and them, and was usually out of the room uring avatar moments.

It wasn't my intention to make it seem that way, I would never atempt to demean someones inteligence, and I apoligize if it seemed that way.
It's the way you typed it that made The Darkness think that. I still don't even understand what you typed...

It's all about the style, no other RPG is quite like it. I love the way it makes you feel absorbed into the moment. Besides CC Corps awesome integration plan to fuse Games, Manga, and Anime into a cohesive running story is downright ingenious

LoneFalcon001 wrote:The fact that you get one massive, coherent story that interconnects on every level (from the obvious connections to the deep, hidden ones) from basically every entertainment medium in existence is a huge plus in my book as to why I love it so much.

The characters are another part. Everyone has a very distinct personality, speaking style, and even the way they write. It makes the characters almost real, and really makes you feel for them and what they are going through. Not many video games/animes/books/manga have ever made me care about the characters so much.

And the story its self is yet another reason. Its got everything. Its sci-fi (first and foremost), fantasy, adventure, action, it's very emotional at times and even has some love story elements. It really has got everything someone could want.

There are so many more reasons why I like .hack, but listing them would take a lifetime.
Same here.

Another great part is the sheer pokability of the series.
Hell, even captioning it is fun,as I learned today:

I'm all about the netconspiracy thing, and the lengths of which the creators took to make the cohesive story, the varied characters, and the actual World itself into a pulsing, moving, living thing that is .hack highly impresses me and really took "Going Off The Deep End" To a whole new level, in a good direction might I add.

The unique simulated MMORPG thing is what has always made the series interesting. Anything different is jumped on these days as we're so used to seeing the same thing repeated in slightly different ways.

The original 4 games would've been poor without the story being so original, those games had very little to offer in terms of gameplay with all of them quickly becoming repetitive. And GU, while having better gameplay than the original series, also stands above the other action RPG's near it because of the simulated MMORPG thing it has going on.
