whats the point of giving mecha grunty chim spheres

You complete the quest...well..one involvng Dr.Kubo(?) and he allows you into his house/workshop..thing...where you can speak to him,and he counts the amount of times you've saved Mecha Grunty.
At set numbers,he gives you one of akind items you need to complete the ryu book.
At 50,he gives you the final armour,Steam plate,and you never see Mecha Grunty again.

Do you get to see him in volume 3?

Yes.
And in Vol 2.
My point was in vol 1,he;s gone for good after that.

But they don't remove anything between Vol 1 and 2,so I assume it's there.
Wether or not it's increased,I can't tell you.

They didn't change it from 1 to 2, so I'm assuming not.

So you can do dr.kobo's(I think that was him) missions where if you save him 50 times he gives you a fairly good item.

It's Kepel. Kubo gives you items for chim kicking, not saving Mecha Grunty.

Thats what Grunty gives you, Kepel gives you rare equipment for saving him a certain amount of times. If the song really bothers you that much then either dont' save the grunty, or turn the volume down.

You really only need the armor for books of 1000.

I love Piros the 3rd's theme song!
But yeah, I haven't saved mecha grunty 50 times yet on any of the games. I hate how they changed his voice, I liked it better in vol. 1.

That's too funny. But something like that would probably freak out even me... AND I HATE THAT STUPID MECHA GRUNTY!!! It was so annoying. I thought it was pretty cool the first few times, but it just got ridiculous after a while. Kind of like the King of the Underworld side-quest...

For the record, even after you save Mecha Grunty you can still see him just not in an area or to be rescued, he will be at the doctors house saying he is being worked on or something?(been a while) so you can see him again if you want in vol 1 and 2 and I would guess 3.
