Re: the real thing that makes you love hack
I started playing .hack because my friend had it at his house and I saw the epitaph of twilight and was like WOW some fat guy eating a pizza with mustard sauce stains on his shirt thought really in-depth about a game that had a poem... SOOOOOOOOOO I thought the game must have been good for someone to put that much thought in it.

The level the story operates on.
It surpasses any other storyline,in my opinion.

True: I do agree that the storyline in the game does go much further then other RPG's...
Yes we all know FF has been around forever, but it is never continous...but with .hack everything flows from infection to quarantine

Infection to Redemption would be a better anology.White_Wolf wrote:True: I do agree that the storyline in the game does go much further then other RPG's...

And the storyline,as a friend of mine said,is on par with anythign even by Shakespear himself.

ahhaahahaha your new nickname: "Mr. Symbology Of Everything That Doesnt Matter"
for short: S.O.E.T.D.M.
and besides this game and its storyline are very in-line and start right off where it ends, I love that aspect

If it's all the same,I'll stick with that names the board has given me over tha past half a year.White_Wolf wrote:ahhaahahaha your new nickname: "Mr. Symbology Of Everything That Doesnt Matter"

SOETDM dosn't sit well,and dosn't pernounce well.
And yeah,the story is amazing.
When it ends, everyting is always the way it began, except with a few happier teenagers and adults in the world.

Hmmm I would say everything!
I love everything about Dot Hack and how deep it is.
Normally I don't like Anime but .Hack//Sign got me hooked on the series.

I mainly love the massive, mysterious storyline! There is no other story in the world (no pun intended
) quite like this one. Also I love how the story goes corolates (pardon the misspelling if any) with the anime. The games are just awesome, and it disappoints me that no one else in my neighborhood even knows what it is!

Re: the real thing that makes you love hack
The fact that you get one massive, coherent story that interconnects on every level (from the obvious connections to the deep, hidden ones) from basically every entertainment medium in existence is a huge plus in my book as to why I love it so much.
The characters are another part. Everyone has a very distinct personality, speaking style, and even the way they write. It makes the characters almost real, and really makes you feel for them and what they are going through. Not many video games/animes/books/manga have ever made me care about the characters so much.
And the story its self is yet another reason. Its got everything. Its sci-fi (first and foremost), fantasy, adventure, action, it's very emotional at times and even has some love story elements. It really has got everything someone could want.
There are so many more reasons why I like .hack, but listing them would take a lifetime.

I like the storyline most of all, but since GU, I've been enjoying the gameplay too!

Wow, a lot of the things I like have been said twice. Yes, yes everyone agrees that the Storyline is EPIC. Game play is pretty good, actually I prefer .Hack Game Play over FF anyday. The characters in all of them are very likeable(Besides Lios
). It truly is a unique rpg/anime/manga. Theres not that much to hate about .Hack. To be honest I hope the series never end. Even though I know its impossible, I can still dream
.

Re: the real thing that makes you love hack
I like the fact that so many other people play the same game but its turns out so different in the end you can truly be you own character in how you treat and talk people to but most of all I like the freedom. you can almost do whatever you like and it seems like each game they make you get even more freedom.

The Epitaph of Twilight
The story behind each series
the gameplay is great
the fact its a simulated MMO is pretty cool.
I love the characters.

Re: the real thing that makes you love hack
Here's one hell of a reason:
I was at a friend house yesterday,and I brought .hack//G.U. Vol 1 with me,and my memory card,so I began playing.
I had done this for the three days before, because we had a tendancy to stop doing everything and watch whatever was on the tulevison, and they seemd to like .hack.
Anyways, but the end of this day,my friend Joe came up to me and asked me,quite honestly
"Crow, are those reak people you're playing with one there?"
This made me realize exactly how well some parts of the game portray an online game.
And that is a big part of the reason I love .hack// so much.
that, and the fact that it's connected me with so many people, like JOT,bookey,AT,Rengeki,Zero....*not leaving names out on perpose...just don't want to rant*

No.
He's actually a very smart person.
If it was you're intention to make it seem so,that really wasn't that funny.
The only things he saw me playing were arena matches against Kuhn and them, and was usually out of the room uring avatar moments.
