Well thinking about it, I'd go for down loadable content if it was free but I'm willing to bet in that case free = crappy and the more expensive it is the better stuff you get.
Ah well, won't really be able to judge it until it happens. E3 is getting closer and closer come July 10th I'll be glued to G4 watching the coverage, though like always they'll probably only cover the big mainstream stuff but I'm sure if there is going to be a price cut for PS3 it would either be announced then or at TGS.
Though I wonder are the PS3 games on blu-ray as well? If not Sony could just take it out which I think the bulk of the price is due to that, I also think Sony should start thinking about bringing the 80GB PS3 outside of Korea was it?.

Yes, the PS3 games are on Blu-Ray discs. Some of the games that are being shared between the PS3 and XBOX 360 have more content in the PS3 versions because of it (e.g. The Darkness).
