No.. just no. Final Fantasy VII is a good game but not the best Final Fantasy game. Maybe opinion but not the best. No game from a series is any better then any other. Except X-2. That's the exception in the Final Fantasy series.

They'll re-make it once they finish milking it for all its worth. It's unplayable in its original form. I would love a re-make of it though. Even if it was on the DS.

You realize how hypocritical that makes you sound right? "All the installments are the same.. well... except for this one. It was definitely not as good as the other installments of Final Fantasy." -- Of course there are installments in a series that are better than others. It's stupid to think that in every series every single installment within that series is the same. For example, Mortal Kombat 4 was definitely not as good as Mortal Kombat 3, Commany & Conquer Generals was not as good as Command & Conquer 3, Medal of Honor: Rising Sun was not a good as Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, and Final Fantasy IX is not as good as Final Fantasy X. So there you go.

i've read through these pages, and im seeing alot of people going on and on about how this wont happen...

well, im not here to rant on about how it will, to then provide no proof of my claims, but i DO have legit information from BlueLaguna concerning the remake of Final Fantasy VII, on the PS3.

alot of news updates were added to this one. Noruma has been really sceptical towards the idea from the very begining. he claims that if he were to get a team on this one, it would take at least five years to complete, and given all the games hes working on for th near future, it'll be a while as it is before he even got to start a project like this. and wel all know the man can't multitask worth ****, so IF he were too we would have to wait until after games like, FFVII: Crisis Core, FFXIII: Versus, and KH3 (assuming there really be one, not saying there wont, but we just dont really know at this point).

one more thing i read, once again from the news archives at BlueLaguna, and this was a little while after what he said about not feeling up to the task, after some persistant pestering he caved, and said he would base his entire descion on the worldwide success of FFVII: Crisis Core. meaning, if the game bombs, then he just plain wont do it. i guess a guy can only take so much flak on his shittier games, before he just gives up.

personally, i dont think Nomura should do this at all. i bet there are a ton of teams at Square who would be itching to get their hands all over this one.

heh... here's an idea that I know I'm going to be cursed for (or blessed, who knows in the end?)

They remake FF7 for the DS, keeping to chain of FF remakes, only branching it to the DS since the GBA can't handle the graphics of FF7.

(the idea just BLOWS your minds don't it lol)

Touched up graphics to make it look smoother, the game utilizing the touch-screen as another screen to display the game on (or maybe to use as the command menu for battles and the 'main menu' for when your walking about)

A new 'bonus' dungeon, of course.
an extension to the storyline to include some of the events in "on the way to a smile" (that FF7 book or whatever)

and here's the funniest part of the idea... it span over 3 DS cards, just like the cd's of the original... even labeled and colored like the original disks were.

There's my ideas on this topic... crucify me for it later.

((I know that you guys are just talking about the PS3's idea of a remake for FF7, but the thread is marked as "Final Fantasy VII remake" not "Final Fantasy VII remake for the PS3" or something like that. OH and a note for the Christians whom may be offended by me saying the word "crucify". Two things, one I'm a Christian as well, so get a life. The second, crucification was an ACTUAL means of execution a long time ago, it wasn't ONLY a part of the Christian religion.))

i'd play it on the DS. you're right, with the touch screen they could make alot of interestin addtions, such as new minigames, or new ways to play the old minigames.

next time, just dont be so quick to jump down peoples throats... before they even post.

yeah, sorry about that. I just catch a lot of hell from people sometimes with what I say. However, quoting that one dragon rider from Eragon, "It's better to ask for forgiveness than permission."

keeping back on topic, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd rather play it on the ds than the ps3 anyway. I don't own a ps3, and the idea of paying over 600 dollars for just one game doesn't seem that appealing to me. I already own a DS and the idea seemed more likely to me anyway...
