You can make them permanent party members by porting Volume 2 data to Volume 1

And Ovan was confirmed to be atleast level 90 by Naobi in Roots, so yea, it was no contest.

And that was exactly my point. Haseo did some extreme leveling. By the time he started the Forest of Pain, he was most likely a level 66 or so. Then, after 6 months of obsessive leveling, bam, he's a level 133. :p

Ovan is level 90 during the games. The fact that he was level 90 was actually found through hacking.
