28 Weeks Later
Ok, people. 28 Weeks Later is coming out tomorrow which is the sequel to 28 Days Later. I really enjoyed the first movie and the new one looks good. But what do you all think about it?

I think this will continue forever and ever and ever.
"The threat has been destroyed... or has it? 28 Months Later."
"When they thought it couldn't possibly happen again, 28 Years Later."

I lol'd that might happen .. But I think 28 years later would be ... too much. 28months would prob be the last.Passé wrote:I think this will continue forever and ever and ever.

is 28 weeks later out yet? and to answer that ... no ;_; tomorrow tho
The first was really good, but I dont know about the sequel. It looks ok, but I think it will be a big disapointment because sequels are never as good as the original. I've grown to dislike sequels as a matter of principle where movies are concerned.
offtopic-I cant believe you still have that quote passe >_<

28 Days Later was a fantastic movie. It was a thriller and survival horror film that offered more than just senseless carnage. It actually had a story as opposed to the typical "they inexplicably came out of nowhere and killed everyone" cliche that we've seen time and time again; especially in movies like the Dawn of the Dead remake (which was garbage).
As for the question "Is 28 Weeks Later good?" My answer: It isn't out yet... Most people don't really know, but so far it has received pretty good reviews. I plan on seeing it tomorrow and I expect that it will be as good, if not better than the first.
Yes, there is rumor of a third and final installment of the series called 28 Months Later, but I don't believe it has been confirmed.

Well that was unnecessary. Next time I'll make an argument and document my sources. After all, the internet is serious business and god forbid I could make a comment. Besides, I don't see you chastising him about not supporting his argument that all sequels are never as good as the original. (Get it? I was making a point). How quaint.marthwmaster wrote:Way to not back up your argument there, S1lentOp.S1lentOp wrote:Not true.Dimitri wrote:sequels are never as good as the original.
Even though there aren't any zombies in the movie.Wander wrote:It's a zombie movie. It wins.
EDIT: I just got back from the movie and I really enjoyed it. Given, it was a thriller movie so it wasn't heavily story driven, but for the kind of movie that the 28 series is, it was great. I would say that it was just about as good as the first, and there will probably be one more installment in the series and I look forward to seeing it. Overall, I give it a 8/10. I gave the original a 9. (that's my opinion btw)
SPOILERS:
France is pretty screwed now, so I'd expect that most of Europe and possibly Asia will be infected eventually now that it's in the mainland. Who knows? Perhaps it'll turn into an apocalyptic setting where a majority of the world is infected. There's really no telling at this point. I'm very certain, though, that there will definitely be one more movie.

I saw 28 day's later on my TV one time but I decided not to look at it because it was in the middle of the movie...so I suppse I'll catch 28 day's later if I see it again.
But it think it's about so virus outbreak in France/Europe that's very similar to the T-Virus in Resident Evil that all I know.

It's about some type of virus that was spread through monkeys called "Rage". I'm not sure what the hell it really is, but it spread through humans turning them into a type of zombie. There are only a few survivors. It's a british movie, and the whole of the U.K. was infected, parts of Paris and NY. Normally I don't like things british, but Eddie Izzard and 28 Days Later are the only two things I do like. Oh, I can't forget Most Haunted...so that makes three.
Do check out 28 Days Later, Zer0.

A group of environmental terrorists broke into an animal research lab to free the apes that were being experimented on. While they were in there a scientist caught them breaking in, but when the environmentalists noticed him, they captured him and told him what they were doing. He begged them not to because the apes were infected with the "Rage" virus, which spreads through the saliva and blood of the infected. Well, they let them out anyways and the rest is history. The infection spreads and all of Britain is evacuated (which fails) and quarantined. 28 days after the outbreak, the main character Jim wakes up from a coma and finds himself in the abandoned city of London. There he meets up with a few surivors and from that point it becomes the story of their struggle to survive and not become infected.Zer0 wrote:What's the original about? I haven't seen it.
The difference is that the Rage Virus wasn't meant for military use. Also, the T-Virus kills the organisms it infects and reanimates them, thus making them into zombies. The Rage virus doesn't killed the infected, so they're still living humans... they're just really pissed off humans consumed in a murderous rage. One of the biggest misconceptions about the 28 Days/Weeks movies is that they're zombie flicks when there are no zombies in the movie at all. The infected aren't killing people because they're cannibalistic, they do it because the virus sends them into a blinding rage (hence why it's called the Rage Virus). Also, the Rage virus isn't funded by an evil corporation.Vahn Staffear wrote:But it think it's about so virus outbreak in France/Europe that's very similar to the T-Virus in Resident Evil that all I know.

I saw the movie and I thought it was a decent movie.
It mostly just a thriller and less of a "scary" movie.
Things just kept popping out. I've seen 28 Days Later
and that movie kept me into the action. 28 weeks later
has parts that were soo idiotic...I would mention them now, but I don't want to put out any spoiler (or spoiler tags) that could give it away.

The second is not about America. It is about returning the british people/ scottish people back from the refugee camps in America. It's all based in the land of Britain.An_Idea wrote:i watched the first movie...it was interesting but i think the actual footage was terrible.it had bad special FX and stuff. but pverall the thought was interesting, but hardly original, if they can correct a few f those things i think this will be more intersting. and i think this one is about its affects in america
[/url]i have to say.. 28 Weeks Later is very.... "hollywood"
28 Days Later was amazing with its raw, gritty camera that makes you feel like you're in the dirt and in trouble. The previews for the sequel were less promising and look more like a regular zombie survival movie, with none of the promise of the old.

I dont know if that was ever talked about unless it was said in part two. But im guessing the scientists were experimenting on them to try to create one thing and accidently created the virus and tested it on the apes, then what we saw on 28 days later was the after effect. Basically scientists trying to play god and ended up with the mainlnd paying the price.mr.classybear wrote:I just came back. My theatre only had 3 movies and i watched 2, so this was my only option. Ending was awsome, i knew someoen would happen with the boy. I havent watched the first one, but form what i read, there was somthing about monkeys. Can someone tell me why they were infected?
Two scientists named Clive and Warren were attempting to develop an inhibitor which could be used to control aggressive impulses in humans. However, the inhibitor had a reverse effect and put the subject into a fierce and permanent murderous rage; as well as numerous physical side effects. The monkeys were infected because they were injected with the inhibitor that turned out to be the Rage virus. Then when the eco-terrorists broke into the lab, they released the monkeys which lead to the outbreak of the virus.mr.classybear wrote:Can someone tell me why they were infected?
