Actually from what I've seen they don't. Even Atoli only calls him -san. Matsu doesn't, Enju never speaks, and the other captains don't like him very much so they don't. The other Moontree people support him but Hiiragi is the only one who worships the man.(which is sick since he's only a kid but I guess Hiiragi doesn't know that.)

What makes you say he is in the closet (or better yet why is that even relevent to my question asked)? From what I've read he is not very discreet about it

He's a latent homosexual, he acts the way he does online as role-play. However, he never took the game seriously until he met Sakaki, who he has a crush on. I don't think he even has any interest in Moon Tree, it's obvious he only joined because of his attraction to Sakaki.

People dislike Hiiragi because of his obsession with Sakaki who also seems to be universally hated. Hiiragi seems to be perfectly ok with betraying Zelkova and harming anyone who doesn't support him until almost the very end where he finally realizes that Sakaki isn't the same person he used to be.
