You should watch .hack//Liminality so that you understand the purpose of that key note.

The ping noise is what people heard before they went into a coma. Mai found this out with her tuning fork. I think it was A minor or something like that.

That note...

Post by Phase 9 »

Yes, A in C-minor. It is easy to discern from other notes, so it is used to tune instruments. When Mai first regained consciousness, the first thing she said was "Aw", which is the first letter in the German alphabet. (More German occurrences to be posted elsewhere). It is also an effect caused by the nine bracelets when they are used (not to mention the virus as it corrupts graphic files). I like the sound, but it gives me a headache after a while. :?

yeah i thought about that but is she saying that everytime one of the bracelets were used it made that sound and caused things to happen. of course that would explain why mai keeps hearing that sound everywhere.

Technically, the Phases do not carry bracelets, but they are almost the same thing. But whenever someone is Data-Drained, it creates the sound. Also, the virus (colored blotches on the texture files) create the sound, but I am not sure why.

PS: I would prefer it if you did not call me he or she.

Then what to call you? I don't say 'he' for fear of offending if you're a girl/woman, and I don't say 'she' for fear of offending if you're a guy, but I will not ever call a person 'it'.

A minor
I have tunded to a number of notes, but A usually isn't one of them... A minor isn't to oddball... Things like blues scales with an A tend to get a little funky. I usually tune to Concert F or Concert B (Saxophone D and G)... and Piano isn't tuned on guatarifyou tune to A minor everything tends to be a little flat... and gets a little annoying. Besidesall that A minor isn't a note its either a scale or a chord... The note on .hack//sign is a A followed by a short C# which makes it a minor... idk what relivance that all has, but if it has anything to do with music I might know and btw the A minor on a C scale would be either lower or higher because middle A sounds like distorted... when it gets higher it is beautiful, but high A in a C minor scale is not even considered a regular note lolz (its called altosismo when on a sax and it sounds like a squeak). Low A was used in many old German Ensembles, but it is no longer a note on most instruments unless you play a concert instrument (discluding flutes and if your good maybe a tuba, but thats a different scale)

Sorry so long just wanted to share a few things about the "chord" we are listening to.
