Well, seeing as 1) He went for it willingly, and 2) He's still alive, I don't see how it's a fate he didn't deserve.

Ive said it before and il say it again Ovan isnt Ovan hes being controlled by AIDA and anyone know what happened to his sister???

Yes, he is Ovan. He's not being "controlled" by the AIDA, either. Atleast not mentally. He's perfectly sane, but the AIDA are able to control his arm.

As far as I can tell, Corbenik needed to be destroyed/Data Drained properly for it to trigger.

He needed to make sure Haseo had the data of all eight Epitaphs to fight against Cubia, because he wouldn't be able to help and lend his own power after using the Rebirth.
