Despite what you say or do, Haseo was attracted to Alkaid, there's no doubt about that.Bulletcatcher wrote:Since when did Haseo express true affection towards Alkaid? In my eyes, he used her just like he used Atoli in the beginning of Vol. 1: She reminded him of Shino. Atoli just got through to him personally more quickly. Alkaid didn't have enough time to get as close to Haseo as Atoli.
The honeysuckle scene: Haseo reminisced about when Shino said the same to him.
Her death: Haseo remembered Shino's death and didn't want to lose another "friend". That's right. "Friend."
He saw her as an ally and a friend, while she saw him as a person she could love. That explains Yowkow's theme in the Vol. 3 preview.
Atoli represents hope. Relationshipwise, she's the BlackRose of G.U., Alkaid is the person who can't have what she wants because she has some other, more significant competition.
She's a great character, don't get me wrong. I love her as a character, I just can't see a romantic relationship with Haseo happening.
Its more than likely that these relationships with Atoli, Shino, Endrance and Alkaid will remain open-ended, just as they did for Kite and Blackrose, Gardenia, and Terajima Ryoko.

I'm pretty sure Haseo's "absence" is when Shino is hanging out in DataDrainville. Like Shino said, "there's no such thing as a voice that doesn't reach someone." "Get me the heck out of here" is implicitly being cried at the top of her lungs, and Haseo is hearing it...
Also, no matter who it's directed at, it's probably someone who doesn't smile a whole lot... I imagine Haseo will be smiling when he sees Shino again...

I say the song is really open-ended, but I think it's really leaning more of Haseo's PoV towards Atoli.
And as for that whole conversation about each character's theme in the Vol. 3 trailer, desire is definetly more powerful than love to that reference. I'm not trying to rag down you HaseoxYowKow fans, I agree I'm a little fan of them too. Agreeing with Umbra, Haseo was attracted to her, but that's all, and attraction could never be a strong thing in the first place. It could just mean he's begininng to like and care for her. Desire is a want which is obviously more powerful than attraction.
Agreed. Also, it says "I used you as my crutch, it must have been painful". This could be referenced to the end of Vol.1, where Atoli finds out that she has Shino's same character type and believes that she was just used to be a reminder of Shino. And you know that's what so happened.Zer0 wrote:Haseo never smiles. The only one I can think of smiling is Atoli.Kuukai wrote:Gently, you were smiling
Without seeing the chains you bore,
I used you as my crutch, it must have been painful
Agreed, it can go either way.Zer0 wrote:This supports the Shino talking about Haseo theory, or the Haseo talking about Atoli theory.Kuukai wrote: You loved me more than anyone
And watched me more than anyone
Open-ended. "Gentle hands" can be a metaphor to the comfort and love the character gives to the other, etc., which all characters give at some point.Zer0 wrote:Haseo definitely doesn't have Gentle Hands. Atoli does. Shino's too dark to have Gentle Hands.Kuukai wrote: Forever, forever, even if we're apart
I'll be thinking of you
Because your warmth, your gentle hands,
I can never forget
I think this is a Shino/Atoli reference. The first line would be in reference to the absence of Shino, and because of that, it makes it hard for him to communicate with Atoli.Kuukai wrote: Accustomed to your absence,
I find it hard to speak when you're around,
Agreed, Shino isn't silent, just quiet. I believe "silence" is in reference to "open-ness", which would really refer to Haseo. Whether Haseo is refering to Shino or Atoli, is open-ended.Zer0 wrote:Shino isn't really "silent", she talks alot. However, Haseo isn't really open at all, and is kind of selfish when he asks Atoli to help him in the Arena.Kuukai wrote: But even when I'm silent, all the things I say
Selfishly ask more from you
