Hey, that's what i've been doing untill yesterday, when i just took a wild chance that they may have support for it. My codes had one additional line too ;P

Have you tried connecting an usb keyboard to the ps2 and typing? I used the one from my normal computer temporarily ;P

The only way to make a search like this reasonable is if several people do it. As for me, i have to convert the code and input two lines of code for every value i want to test ;P
Thankfully, i can use my keyboard xD

Videospud, you join in too ;P
I already did a group: Endrance, Bordeaux, & Iyoten.

You misunderstand me Videospud.
The "groups" i'm talking about are these:
http://dothackers.net/forums/viewtopic. ... 856#146856

So basically, take the character modifier code and input those last values into it. I'm doing the ones called "Group 0" (i realized i missed those when writing the original post) and as you can see, Kryuzei is doing "Group 3".
Think you could test Group 1 or 2?
Just try the values (with no other code activated) and start the game. If it doesn't crash, tell us what character it gives you and if it's playable in fields/fights.
It seems you have Codebreaker. If i'm right, you'll only need to change the last number, while me and Kryuzei needs to type in a whole new code after converting, so you should have it a lot easier too ;P

Zer0 wrote:So wait, should I buy Codebreaker or Action Replay?
It doesn't really matter. I suppose a Codebreaker would save you some time since you won't have to convert and type in completely different values every time you want to just change to a different character modifier.

SUPAH EDIT!

And here's the reason i wanted to do this search. Whoever made up the first modifier values apparently didn't know the codes are written in HEX (1-9, followed by A-F, THEN 10 and so on).

I just ran around as Antares =P
I highly suspect Tri-Edge is in Group 1 or 2 =D Come on people =P I've got the whole group zero written in, so i'm currently going to test the other s as soon as i can get the game going again =P

So codebreaker is better?

Someone please clarify. Which is better to use: Codebreaker or ARMAXX?

The difference:
Code breaker requires one less line of code and it's quicker to change specific values in a code.

ARMAX tells you if the code is for the right game and i -think- codebreaker doesn't tell you if the code is written incorrectly.

I'll be happy to help you Aku. The codes up there are Raw, and you could use them as is with Codebreaker then, right? I think I'm gonna buy Codebreaker. You need to give me a step-by-step guide on how to actually execute these codes though. <_<

Code: Select all

000A - Antares (Fully playable, except kicking objects stops removes control)
000B - Matsu (Fully playable, except kicking objects stops removes control)
000C - Yata (Trying to set a Skill Trigger kills the game. Can go to fields and fight. His weapons aren't visible)
000D - Ovan (Can go to fields and fight, but his attacks doesn't connect to enemies, neither does his skills. He pretty much just knows how to pose and look badass x3)
000E - Zelkova (Can't go to fields and can as such not fight. Got a SICK scythe o.o)
000F - Taihaku (Actually FROZE randomly when running around in Mac Anu. I think it happens when you put your stick up to the left ;P)
I'm going to do Group 1 too, ok? (001A to 001F)

Quick question, how come these codes haven't made it to the actual Codebreakers site?

I mean the codebreakers site is usually up to date with the codes, esp since they have the 1 day code option.

I haven't seen any listing on teh code breakers site for .hack yet?

They're most likely NOT made by anyone on codebreakers. Besides, they've messed up their forums where most codes are posted on, so i really wouldn't count on their whole day-1 release thing.
Sites like this or gamefaqs are the best way to go for the NEWEST codes.

SUPAH EDIT:
I went and tested group 1 too. I bet i'll end up doing group 2 too unless someone comes and snatches it anytime soon =P Where's the group effort people? ;P

Code: Select all

001A - Crash
001B - Azure Kite (not floating and crashes in fields)
001C - Crash
001D - Crash
001E - Negimaru (Fully Playable but can't kick or active objects)
001F - Grein (Fully Playable but can't kick or active objects)
Azure Kite's weapons are called "Empty Skies". They're lvl 1 hold & release o.o

I suspect there aren't too many values left, but i want to find out if Haseo's different forms may perhaps be different values. Now THAT would be cool.

Thanks a bunch =D
Since yeah, i need to type in two full new lines of code for every value <.<;
True, i can use my keyboard saving me TONS of time, but still.

I suspect we won't find much more characters after group 2 and possibly 3, but i think it's worth looking a bit further just to be sure they're all just crashes.

Okay, now I'm gonna be test out the first code, 0020.

EDIT: Well, I tested it out, and it doesn't give you anybody. I'll try 0021.
EDIT 2: #_# The game crashes with 0021. #_#
EDIT 3: I'm now testing 0022. Hopefully it'll work.
EDIT 4: Nope, doesn't work. The game just freezes.
EDIT 5: Boy, oh boy, I hope 0023-25 work.

Try doing it like this:

Type in all the codes, activate one.
Then copy the list of the codes in my post on the previous page and type out the information like i did when you've done one of them and post the list when you've done them all.
Quick and easy^^

0026 - Crashes.

Gives you nobody = You end up as Haseo? If so, what form are you in the save you're loading up? (I sure hope you don't start a new game and skip the scenes every time. It's safe to just load your regular save as long as you don't save over it after all.)

Unfortunatly, you get no one, thus the game freezes.
