WHAT?! then who the heck is that you meet in volume2? I thought that was Phyllo....

Also....NOOOOOOOO!!!! Why'd he have to die? He's one of the coolest .hack characters ever and one of my personal favs. I wanted to be just like him(except the old part)

Cause he wasn't in his regular spot anymore..

That and most of the time, his cat and dog kept unplugging his cable so his PC was gone, he had to replug and his PC appeared back within the World XD

And wtf, I was corrected that Phyllo is in version 2

Or did someone lie to me = =; cause I thought he died also and people did say he never died.

It could be possible that the Phyllo entity in Volume two is a look-a-like who admired him, or possibly an AI Phyllo that somehow got born through Phyllo's contact to Tri-Edge, ala the AI Subaru's birth through skin contact with Aura.

Ever since I discovered how old Phyllo was I had this nagging idea that he would die at some point, or at least be hospitalised. But the fact that throughout the entirity of Roots he knew he was going to die is quite upsetting, it gives me an entirely new perspective on Phyllo.

I want to know what happened with Saburo and Tohta though, and it looks as if Pirokio and Iita created a Guild, so I'd like to know what this new Guild is called as well.

So he died. This makes me even more sad.
I thought of it but wasn't sure.
But what is strange is that church sceen. The one that looked like Phyllo didn't seem to be Phyllo at all. But was it he or not. Or someone else?

I believe that was Phyllo and he'd simply switched off his voice-altering software.

Phyllo was meant to appear quite wise and powerful throughout the series and in the end, we see that he was simply a frail old man. So the voice you heard appears to be that of the true Phyllo.

But I wonder (if Phyllo really died) who is the one we see at .hack//G.U. Vol.2.
He seems to look exatly like Phyllo but don't really know yet untill I get the game.

Actually, I think that wasn't Phyllo's player at all. The impression I got (after re-rewatching it) was that it was someone who knew Phyllo, and that he had asked them to go into the game for him after he passed away to let some people (Touta, and possibly some others) know it was over.
