I actually think Aku's avatar is quite good. I'd give it an 8 or a 9.

As for you, I hate to say this, but I really liked your previous avatar more. I think you should go back to it. On the other hand, your new signature is flashier and much prettier to look at.

10/10 - I love the drawings and nothing appears too garish or out of place, plus a bonus point because they're part of a set.

@Kite_2000: Here's your rating...

8/10 - The colour schemes for both your Avatar and Signature work well together, even if I hate orange. Your Avatar is very cute but its worlds apart from your Signature, which is just cool.

BTW, the sig isn't specifically for that game, the sig shows you what game i've been playing the most this week and what game i've played the most of. Xfire is just a gamers version of MSN messenger, it keeps track of the hrs you log.

anyway I like VG cats, so both your av and sig get a 9/10.

You don't need Photoshop to make avatars. MSPaint is just fine. Just don't muck it up and you're good to go. (= Though you're probably going to only use it for cropping and some text placement if necessary. Not exactly great for getting one from scratch.

The avatar looks like it was taken from one of those icon maker people, so I have to take points for unoriginality. Maybe a 5/10 overall.

The signature image is pretty bland as well, besides the fact that you're hotlinking and stealing bandwidth from quizzilla =p.

I wouldnt call it stealing when you they give you the code. I just dont know how to make sigs or even upload them.

But tom I will be taking a 3-D animation course and one of things ill learn is stuff of this nature. So youll see some badass ffxi avatars and sigs of my 3 dudes : Ignus, Einhinder and Vaporsnake

Point taken. Making is easy as going into MSPaint, getting a picture, saving it, then uploading it to an image hosting site, (Photobucket and Imageshack are popular), though you'd want to pretty it up first.

It takes time to learn to be able to do things of that nature. Taking a course definitely helps though.

Anywho:
The avatar is interesting.. dunno what it is, but it's interesting, heh.

The signature banner is just a vgcats logo, nothing special.
