.hack isn't really one of the games they did that for (though it's been done to every voiced Final Fantasy, XS, Star Ocean, Kingdom Hearts, and many others). They did rerelease it as a "greatest hits" version with two game discs to a box, but at the loss of Liminality.

In my opinion it's difficult to play the game, (well at least the last one) without all the behind the scenes info. you get from Liminality.

That sounds quite troublesome.
Now I'm so glad I didn't get the japanese version instead of the european version.
But if I would get the japanese version's as well at some point in my life, is it bearable to play?

Heh. Well the story is what clings me to it the most. And the gameplay goes with it then. I gues I will get it someday then I gues.
