maybe the only "worthy opponents" are the avatars and maybe tri-edge is trying to pull them out?

as i said before, it is probable that tri-edge and kite are the same person, but tri-edge is the data combined with the viruses absorved by the bracelet. maybe some piece of of kite's mind still remains in there and is trying to find an opponent to kill his character for good (by using data drain)? the only ones who data drain are the avatars maybe...

well about kites braclet beening the person, what about if a virus just used his login password? lol, that would be a simple way to make tri-edge, and then the virus starts re-wrighting his data like the book of twilight did, and the avatars would be both foe of kite, and the normal people in the avatars would be foe of the virus, so 2 VS 2 hatred, so even if he has any bit of kite in him, he will still wana kill the avatars, but if not, it will be funner for him to fight the legendary phazes from the epitath

but if they completly redid the world, how would the phazes exist? they could have hosted it on the same computer network and morgana could have hacked the computer and infected the game, and reasembled kites data with her own, or reactivating the phazes overloading the braclet with the data it had in it (that kinda wouldent work with the first braclet broken..) and how do we know that in twilight braclet that its kites braclet he gets?(sorry, the episode I saw had french subtitles lol) kites data was undelete able, the only way to edit it should be the braclet to rewright the data, cause braclets protection should be able to also be reversed by a object of the same, and the world wasent completly redone, the place with the aura statue still exists, and I saw a place that looked like the first root town

did anyone look at the braclet? it was red and had a extra windmill type thing on it

And I don't think a Virus is smart enough or powerful enough to cause Tri-Edge, since viruses are just...little packets of self-replicating data. To say nothing of the internet in .hack-land having made the Virus species extinct.

you said that kites data was undeletable right? well thats supports my theory that tri-edge is kite (the data was saved along with the lost grounds), but that viruses using his log and password... i dont think so. the character data was saved, but the logs where deleted, so the viruses wouldnt be able to log in.... they are controling him through the bracelet

about the viruses rewrithing the data... that makes sense to me..... kite no longer has those beije colored sleeves, but they are now colored with some type of dark blue.... you dont see many players in dark blue, as you didnt see many players in red in the world r:1

if tri edge would like to destroy the avatars (he certanly does) it would be just for fun... he doesnt even have feelings, nor tallks.... he only says says something like [grasps of pain]

AuraTwilight, you say that one virus is not enough to make tri edge right? in  .hack// SIGN ep 28 - Unison you can see that kite was cleaning up the viruses from the world right? and it werent few though... those remaining viruses could could have been enough to make kite into tri edge.....

i.e. your pc has one virus - no big deal
your pc has two viruses - hmm, still no big deal
...........
your pcp has a LOT OF VIRUSES - crash - hard drive deletion, lots of bad things....

There are no viruses in the World. Data Bugs aren't infected with a virus so much that they're reprogrammed. Virus Core is just a name. Viruses are extinct in .hack. Even if Kite was virus infected, he wouldn't become a vagrant AI. Viruses aren't artificially intelligent, and if they were, they wouldn't be viruses anymore.

I think they were only called viruses because they seemed to corrupt data and self-replicate. But technically, no, they weren't viruses. Aura's right.

It could be something as simple as Tri-Edge being Ovan's counterexistence like Cubia to Kite.

Well, the terminal disc translations did talk about how Jun theorized that another anti-existence could be formed once the 8 phases were brought about, or something along those lines...so yeah, that whole Tri-Edge=Ovan's counter existence makes tons of sense.
