I'll not go into it too much, because I don't want to stray off topic, but man, that's a whole lot of bitterness towards WoW. Not everyone thinks like you, you know? I've been level 60 for months and I'm still having fun with it. Every time I beat a boss I haven't beaten before, I feel accomplished.

Back to the topic. I don't know if you noticed, but everyone left because Ovan disappeared. It's as simple as that. Everyone was so obsessed with Ovan in one way or another, that they can't enjoy the game in other ways anymore. It's as Sakisaka explained. He tried to enjoy the game in a normal way, but his memories of the Twilight Brigade kept him from doing so. This has nothing to do with the reason you quit WoW.

It could not have been because Skeith, because Shino is a epitath wielder as well.
I think that at this point, Shino is only an epitaph wielder in G.U.+

As far as we know, at least...

Also, one thing. Time and again on this board and the Japanese board people mention how Haseo returning to consciousness blows their theories, but there are two pieces of info no one seems to be considering:
Right before he falls unconscious, Haseo sees a figure approaching him from the cathedral entrance. (almost certainly Ovan)
A middle-school girl you see in the news also goes unconscious for a short time like Haseo and then recovers.

Wait, Shino's an Epitaph Weilder in G.U.+? It's still non-canon, but it's interesting anyway. What's her Avatar? :O

Nobody have posted about the fact that Shino was tearing up just was she was called to encounter with someone (in this case, Tri-edge). Besides, Shino was telling Phyllo to take care of Haseo when she disappear (like she was about to disappear very soon...).

My theory is that Shino knew all the time that she was going to be DD. And that explains her sentence: "I won´t be running like aura...", that was fate. Also, I think tri-edge is somehow related to shino instead to Ovan.

PD: Sorry about my grammar if I made any mistakes....

Actually, I'm fairly sure most agree that Shino was tearing up because Ovan sent her a message to meet him at the Cathedral. Earlier in the episode it was made known to us that Ovan had somehow escaped Yata's clutches, and we've also seen him appear in episode fourteen's preview. Ovan mailing Shino to meet him at the Cathedral also connects to the relationship between Tri-Edge and Ovan, Tri-Edge mirroring Ovan's shadow as he enters Grima Lowe, and so forth.

At the end of ep 12, apparently, Ovan managed to escape Yata´s clutches (something related to the light that appears in his locked arm).
But Nobody can tell (up to now) that Ovan is the one who emails Shino. (i haven´t noticed that in ep 13). And what about the previous conversation with Phyllo??

Besides she seemed unhappy when receiving that email (if ovan was the one who emailed her, i think that Shino´d be happy).

Sorry I should of explained myself a bit more clearer, in all aspects you can compare 'the world' to WOW for comparsion both are hugely popular, both have unqiue designs and both have the same playstyle.

For Example:
It was so remisience to from Sakisaka to join Riot Gun, when in WOW the exact thing happens to people in my Guild in WOW to join Guild Wars and you cant say that the world:R2 was no where near like WOW but its almost the same (except for the unkillable characters :P), the closest thing you can experience 'the world' is probably to play World of Warcraft and watch so many similarities happen in WOW as in hack roots anime.

True I admit that I have bitterness towards WOW (its because I played this game the most but I'm aiming at all MMORPGs) but remember did you hear what Gord said "I cannot use this game to escape reality anymore" and he also has lost his goal to defeat Ovan (sort of like when you achieve goals in a game the example you have given about defeating a boss) this is character I can relate to because my feelings are similar, Sakisaka left because the Twilight Brigade broke up + his friends was going onto another game, he would of stayed around if his friends remain. "Do you want to come along too Tabby? to Riot Gun" was the statement I believe he made. The only person who quit because of Ovan was B set, well not exactly she quit b/c her friend Gord quit and she doesnt have anyone else to talk to (Its like she came back from a long vacation and everyone she knew left). Its not as simple as you made it out to be, ingoring these facts and then accepting the fact that they left because of one character is just ludicrous. Ovan disappearing did intitate each character's depression but it wasnt him that made them quit o/w they wouldnt of come back. With this and the reasons compounded with my rant on my previous post probably what driven these three to quit but also shows what actual people do when they quit MMORPGs abstractly.

What bothers me is why Shino and Phyllo didnt tell them about Ovan being captured by TAN. Might of prevented them from quitting or probably not since they couldnt be bothered any more.

The rant is just a general comparsion of what goes on in a MMORPG. I'm just using WOW because thats the MMORPG which I played the most, all I'm saying is that this process is what goes on in a MMORPG, it isnt the reason why I quit WOW (its much more deeper and more personal than you think) and this is what you expect (not something as fun as hack roots) as you can see its daunting though you cannot deny it. The fact is that the process I gave in my previous post does happen in any old MMORPG. I'm only just driving people away because like crack, MMORPGs can ruin your lives as it has done to Gord for example, cause an anime like this can tempt you to join a MMORPG and lead you astray. Thats my opinion and thats my advice and example I give, either take it or just leave it as it is.

Hmm, well this was indeed a worthwhile episode, this also goes back to my theory of Shino being a tool to entice Haseo then to be Data Drained all issued by Ovan. As I've said before her feeling's seem forced whenever she was around Haseo. As well the mysterious message, her not fearing Tri-Edge, her not even running. Though it would appear as if Ovan tricked her in some way... Their might be something to my theory after all hehe.

For some reason, I'm not even surprised that Shino's not running from something from a video game :l She's not that knowledgeable in .hack affairs.

despite not knowing a whole lot i think Shino chooses not to run because Aura did run. no matter how bad things were Shino didn't give up and even through episode 13 it was almost as if she knew what it would come to.

Ah, but there is reason to fear for her and Ovan, they mention once two people in a hospital, and their states, odds are they are talking about two Data Drain victims.

Another preconception, you see a slash mark appear as she begins to fall. Odds are the "Signs" as Tawaraya put it are where he lays his victims to rest. Odds are right before he got there Shino in her "firm resolve" waited for whatever Tri Edge was going to do, which a Data Drain was completely unexpected. As someone said they might have a flashback between what really happened there in Grima Lowe.

well, thats a good point... but there isnt anything mentioned about ther other marks, and there are only 2 ppl in the hospital, and there are much more marks than two...5/6 marks. Or do you mean tri-edge is planning to put more people to rest?

And about the data drain on shino, it is impossible to know for sure wether she was data-drained or not, because we only see her being slashed and then falling... but, by the looks of it, she was indeed data-drained.

i think its pretty obvious from episode 13. the scene was dramatic. The air time was focused on Haseo's perspective once Hakua Byoutou started to play. Shino was data drained. We see her looking at the phone ring some time after she collapses.

Being unable to understand nearly a word of Japanese, it was Haseo calling her, right?

Um, I know the posts above were posted sometime ago... a really long time ago but I looked at picture 2 and I noticed that it looks like that place where Tsukasa, Mimiru, and Subaru were in episode 26 of SIGN. You know, when they were transported to the midle of no where and stuff. If you don't remember, take a look back.

Hmm, wasn't that gray haired guy supposed to speak like a role player? At least that's how he spoke in the radio drama if I remember correctly...

EDIT: Anyone notice that part of the group that was traveling with... the Pker's that PKed Haseo, were the two guys from episode one whom tried to stop the two "girl" Pker's from killing some guy for his staff?
