The One SIn and how Balmung got his wings

I have heard two stories on how he got his wings. I just wanted to ask you .hack experts for I have just renewd my love for it.

He recieved his wings after Orca and himself defeated the one sin. He was the one who made the killing blow, and recieved the character modding prize.

lol.yeah that makes me look dumb..when I first played infection,after reading the statue post on the bbs,I always thought he got his wings from being the fastest person getting there.Ya..I havent read any of the mangas thou...so cant blame my noobishness.

.hack//A.I. Buster gives the details on the One Sin event. Orca and Balmung participated and were the only two to complete it. Orca made the final blow but declined the reward; it then went to Balmung. The enemy was a dragon type monster that was waiting within a huge blizzard.

Yea i remember they was at omega or theata sever and they needed help and they finished that dragon and somthing werid was goin on am i'm correct
