What does SIGN mean?

Post by .hack//Subaru »

This may be a dumb question, but I've just never known.

What does the Sign in .Hack//Sign mean and stand for?

Good question. I'm not really sure myself? Also, what does Al Buster mean? Is it A.I. Or AL? Why are the name's so confusing?

It's a SIGN. As if a Sign of things to come. Subaru said it best. "I think all of this is just part of a bigger flow. A bigger set of events: A wave, if you will."

That would probably make the most sense since .hack//SIGN was supposed to be a sort of prelude to the overall story of The World.

wow, i always figured it meant like the street sign's in carmena gadelica, but AT's explanation is much better.

sign is such an ambigous title, so you can interpret it as what AT said, a sign of thing's to come, but you can also read it as a sign of change. change in the world, in the people which the anime is centerd around, sign of changing perspective's.

The point is-whatever you want to interprit it as would almost be considerd right, along with the rest of the theories about it's title.

I thought "Sign" might have something to do with what the lyrics were talking about in the song "Key of the Twilight."

This part: "In the land of misery I'm searchin' for the sign."

I never really put much thougt into it, but that's where I stopped thinking about the meaning of "sign."

In all likelihood, AT was the closest. But since there's no definite answer, perhaps they wanted the fans to each decide it's meaning for themselves, making any explaination fair game.

hmm, I wonder if we can make this sound more sophisticated...

The point is-whatever you want to interprit it as would almost be considerd right, along with the rest of the theories about it's title.

XD I thought it was Al Buster when I first got it also.

I really don't know what the sign stands for but heres the dictonary defnition.

Sign:. any object, action, event, pattern, etc., that conveys a meaning XD

That probaly was stupid and didn't help at all...

It's basiclally just up to the individual.
