It's just some optional boss you can fight to get rare stuff and have something entertaining to do after finishing the game, but there's nothing really important behind it. The same goes for Infection and Mutation, while Quarantine's special quest is actually important and does belong to the storyline.

Yeah its nothing really. Just a means to get some pretty decent equipment and kite's strongest blades.
