i have heard rumors that .hack// G.U. wasn't schedueled to be released until late 2006, is that true? if it is wouldn't it come out on the PS3 since that is rumored to be released around that time too?

To the press it was stated Spring of 2006 and not for the PS3, definitly for the PS2
