Doppleganger?

We need help defeating this foe.
It seems to have little, if any, weaknesses.
We'd really like to be able to get the Doppleganger weapon.
Help, please?

We tried that.
While it was quite effective, it didn't really kill it.
It then proceeded to kill Pi and Kuhn, in that order.

Exactly, though you need to beat him in Rebirth in order to get it.

You don't really need more than a Beast Awakening to kill him...or even half one. Just spam skills such like Bone Crusher and have everyone on Free-Will or Rage, and he should be dead before the awakenings ends.
You can beat him without Beast Awakening, it just takes a bit long and you need to spam skills and Guard Cancelling attacks.
