Link's OST something that didn't fail

Post by zaseo »

Link may have failed in many other areas, but the OST is nice. It has great new, and old .hack songs. Aura the Queen of Demise, Tears of Feelings, and the Root Town are my favorite.

Yea, I have to concede that Link's OST is pretty awesome.

Though in fairness, more than half of the OST is stuff from previous .hack works, so...lol.

Though, rehashed songs aside, I still think it's the best OST yet. No one even mentioned my favorite songs: Klarinette and Hero of Gear. It's interesting, though I guess obvious, that all of the Schicksal themes (except for Geist) contain their namesake instrument. (well, a synth version, like with all LieN stuff)

I don't think the rest of the game is fail, either (with the exception of Tokio's moveset--it wouldn't have killed them to give him more than two skills at any given time), but I'm still not quite done so I'll save it for then...

It's certainly a contender for the best game OST, but I think //Sign's soundtrack is still supreme.

I thought G.U.'s soundtrack was better overall... actually LINK is the worst of the three game soundtracks overall IMO, but that doesn't make it "bad" (it's still better than 90% of RPG soundtracks out there today).

I concede it might be kinda a toss-up between this and the entire G.U. soundtrack, but I think it's decidedly better than any other single game's. The G.U. games each offered some neat BGM and a killer image song, but Link has a lot more of each. If you include the stolen songs I think it beats G.U. by virtue of pretty much containing it.

If we made a success list then Link's OST would be at the top. If we made a fail list there will be many things on it. .Hack never fails when it came to music.

Yeah, //LINK's OST was only a success because it was the only good part of the game. XP

The OST, the cross rengekis, and seeing the old characters is on my success list. Just about everything else sucks.
