crucifixion

Post by Kite »

is iit just me or does Skeith's data drain look like a crucifixion. i heard in the original japanese version his wand was actually a cross. it would make sense since most japanese games being censored due to them having no morals for others religions.

if I recall the wand does resemble a Celtic cross, but that shouldn't effect the story too much. Censorship is often done alongside localization because the material might be offensive, not because it is or was created to be. As for the instances being crucifixion that's up to the viewer. But I think its cool someone can add culture and history into aesthetics.

I always thought that Skeith's 'crucifiction' of players was meant to be reminiscent of how the Japanese treated Christians during the Edo(?) period, except in the case of the world, Christianity is replaced by the treatment of Aura as the Goddess of the World instead of Morganna.
