Great, what about us old 3DS owners? Will we still be able to play new games? Or do I have to break into the old wedding funds for a new 3DS?

At a guess I'd say yes and yes. At least some of the new games are going to require the new 3DS I'm sure, but probably not all, at first.
Of course if they're strictly being designed for the new one, to try and sell it, I would suspect that they'll probably be gimmicky and not very good. Either way, I'm not grabbing one.
I really hope the new Smash Bros. is not a new 3DS exclusive, I'm actually planning on picking it up, probably.

Let's Hope Bravely second is a new 3DS exclusive game then, I'm considering maybe buying one, but after a a price drop of say 10,000 pesos over here, and if it has downloadable DS games, I still wanna play ZX, thank god for me having money.

It looks cool, but as a fairly new 3DS owner, it pisses me off how future 3DS games wont work on my current 3DS..

I'm just a little surprised they made the hardware faster. The old DS still had the same specs across all revisions so if you bought the original, you could still play every DS game ever made.

....wait.

In addition to the upgrade, they're also making games that'll only work on the new one?

What the hell, Nintendo?
