Twilight Festival - .hack Convention in Japan

A fan-organized .hack convention is planned for November 3rd in Tokyo. This isn't the first .hack con, but it's the first in a while. It's also the first since Megane Kikuya and Rei Idzumi, the artists for .hack//Link, and .hack//Legend of the Twilight, became active at cons. Tasogaresai ("Twilight Festival") will have 50 spaces open for participating circles to sell doujinshi. One of the most exciting aspects is how many "official" artists could potentially attend. In addition to those two, the artists for .hack//GnU, .hack//CELL, and other material (including the Crimson VS card game) are active in the doujin community. Since they would need to have something to sell, we could see a massive expansion of "unofficial official" works by the end of the year (Rei Idzumi's last one being one of the most exciting things to happen to .hack in the past 6 months).

Seems interesting. I'm not too familiar with fan conventions. Do we have to purchase tickets in advanced? Maybe people could ask for a custom art piece.

Most of them (and this one is no exception) ask you to buy a ~$5 con booklet at the door as your admission cost. But it's a .hack con guide, so I don't know why you wouldn't want it anyway!

Yes, it's common to be able to ask for custom art. I've gotten some from the artist for CELL before.

There will also be cosplay, and there will be additional programs/activities, for example a special anthology book.

Yes. These "unoffical" products are still pretty exciting for fans, and this is the perfect breeding ground for more. It's planned so far in advance that people can make entirely new books!

Or host your own American dothack convention and invite the English voice actors and perhaps the local license holders like BandaiNamco Games In and Funimation studios.
