Witchcraft Works

Officially, Witchcraft Works begins it's run. The first episode was exactly on par with the manga, so I guess it's a good start.

I didn't think it was that popular. Cool! I must now go see if I can find this. Love a good pyromancer.

I'm surprised myself that they made one. Maybe it's because Shakugan no Shana was popular and Kagari is a fire witch?

I watched episode 12. Hanaka refusing to properly kiss Ayaka to save her life. OK, we can perhaps forgive him the first time, during the battle with Medusa, but a second? And what's his excuse? (Paraphrase) "It's wrong to kiss your loved one before marriage." WTF? This is the person he loves more than anyone, though he's so dense he doesn't realise it (another pet hate of mine), and he's unwilling to kiss her properly once to save her life? Ayaka would have been justified by giving him an Armor-Piercing Slap for that one! It got my my nerves so much I stopped watching it and deleted it right there and then.

Witchcraft Works has issues in plot, but the manga is going well. The story does have strange pacing.

Watched it. Pretty generic feeling aside from the Howl's Moving Castle-like magic transformations which look awesome.

I understand that it feels Generic. I think it's one of those cases it stuck a bit TOO close to the manga. A bit of creative licensing might have been useful there.
