Sephiroth vs. Cloud in FF7:AC was pretty heavy. Perhaps not the MOST epic battle ever, but it is right up there.

hmm... Eureka Seven had some epic moments and then there was the final battle in Vandread. I think Shadow Skills had some epic moments in it too.

edit: hmm, right now death note pops into my mind, not 100% which part would be the most epic, but it sure had those bits. not your common battle though

Epic anime battle? The Sannin fight with the summonings from Naruto was pretty epic. I also loved when Ed fought Greed from FMA.

Some of the duels from YuGiOh are rediculously epic (not in a good way, tho they were pretty epic too)
Maybe that should say epicly rediculous. lol!

Seensome pretty awesome Bleach battles
Kira vs Athrun (death match)
Battle of the HiMEs was pretty epic
Inuyasha vs the Bankotsu
Trunks vs Freeza/King Cold (the mini-epic)

I'd say the motorcycle fight and the sephiroth fights were pretty good as well.
another one that comes to mind is the 3+ episodes of fights on Goku vs. Freeza.
Or better yet: Gogeta soemthing Vs. kid-Buu.
=)
most DBZ battles were rediculously epic.....
in air gear so far, they did a great job of doing the battle scenes in the manga. I remember reading buccha vs. Ikki and I was 'seeing' the action so fast I was almost ripping the pages until I was told that I was sweating(?).

I was totally thinking that too, but i didnt know what to call the gun-hand-robot thingy so I didnt bother.

I also think what Naota gained Canti's (forgot the space pirate's name) power in the last episode.

Asuka vs the Eva series! That battle has been featured in more anime mix/evangelion AMVs than I could ever count. The animation was flawless and the creatures were torn in beautifully disgusting ways.

Kenshin VS Enishi. I just finished reading Vol. 27. One more left, but it the fight seems pretty bitchin. Almost all of Kenshin's fights are epic. Like, when he fought Saitou Hajime.

Oh yeah, Yahiko VS Kujiranami. Yahiko was officially bad-ass during that. He just seemed to get awesomer as the series progressed.

Uhh, Gaara VS Lee was pretty awesome. I can't think of anymore on the top of my head............... hunh.

Inuyasha vs Naraku,the first time Inuyasha used the adamant barrage.

umm....they only faught three times,apart from kindom hearts and such....then it's only 5.......
