C4d is this: http://img432.imageshack.us/img432/2254/93dn.png

Crazy 3d images thats make nonsense but you take a piece of them and fill your sign/avy with effects.

To be honest I spent the time making an avy, looking for topaz vivacity. so I just finished what I thought looked good and was done, perhaps my next one I'll do that.
Also where do you get c4d?
Oh and the blinking avatar avi would be a .gif file, which can be made in photoshop but is tricky

@Everyone- Looks like I'm the only one here who can do them atm then :/

@Cirillo- They're not actually as difficult as you think -especially if you're using sprites instead of actual pictures- they're just.. well... time consuming.

I get the renders [images without a background] and the c4ds at deviant art, or the famous planet renders.

and yes, the avatar like the NK's that are moving can be make in the photoshop making gifs, but how you said it's tricky, I used to know how a few years ago, but I stayed away from PS for 2 years so I forgot almost everything.

You've got the jist of it absolutely perfect, but if you want to make it look even better -completely imho- add a 'blank slide' behind each blink -a slide with no eyes/ completely shut eyes- so that you get a longer delay with each blink. Also, duplicate the slide that comes before that slide. It isn't as difficult as people make it out to be :B.
Though I'm still teaching myself about doing the 'slow blinking' avatars you often see on devart.
