magus? aka giant leaf

I cant beat the stupid thing all it does is use death and rebirth and then I die! Is theyre some sort of trick to this battle? im lvl 46 is this high enough by the time I get down to the thing I am usually lvl 48-49. what do I do?

Try getting to your early 50s, level 52-ish or so. If it's the leaves you're having trouble with, tell BlackRose to attack them. One hit from her sword is enough to destroy them. Have Kite and your second party member take care of Magus.

Believe me, this battle killed me before I figured it out.

You might want to try having Blackrose and Wave Master attack Magus. Just use the Physical Attack up skill on kite two hits should kill Magus Leaves. Also up use the the physical attack up skill on Blackrose. Also have a lot of revives.

If possible equip tons of wood elemental armors on everybody since once you Data Drain it begins to use LV 2 area effect wood spells.

Yes set Black Rose to attack Magus only, Elk/Mistral heal Kite destroy all the leaves 1 - 2 hits at LV 49+ warriors bloods used to increase physical attack power.

Btw it possible to boost all stats before talking to the 6th person at net slum before starting the battle.

Since the stat boosts carry over after all the cut scenes before the batte starts.

I do not remember what level I was on but the main thing to do is to just destroy those eggs that he dropped. Good god those things were a pain. I made the mistake of ignoring them my first battle and when they went off it was game over. Just bring your normal health items.

Well the problem that i had with him was the leafs...as he drops them on the ground you must slash at them [pretty easy to kill] then you attack him. If you fail to do this he will perform death and rebirth a attack that kills all party members instantly as well as you.. I brought blackrose and elk for this one.

lol i always play it safe, i used blackrose and sanjuro, i had them chase Magus around and attack while i attacked the leafs. When he stopped dropping leafs i attacked him as well, Magus was probably the easiest of all the phases to beat for me

Which is why I suggest using elk/mistral being in the party.

I'd agree with that....just wait until you get to phase 6 macha...that was a bit of a pain

Just destroy the leaves within the 15 seconds form when they're dropped and you'll be good.

thats why i bring ALOT of summoning scrolls with me wherever i go, then i kick butt no matter what the enemy is

of all 8 phases Skeith is the 1st hardest because of how "early" Lv wise you fight it.

Macha is close 2nd her charm everybody at once skill has a 100% success rate so it always works even with a body/mind stat of 99.

is Magus really as hard as everyone says he is? wow.......I've only played //INFECTION and it took me 3 times to kill Skeith. I found a good strategy to beat him too!

Magus isn't hard, so long as you can keep him from pulling off his uber attack (i forget what it's called).....but honestly, Cubia will probably give you a much harder time than Magus and Macha will be MUCH harder than those two, at least in my opinion.....

i never had any trouble with skeith or cubia.never died once on any of em even n my first runthough of the game. now macha she was a royal pain in the ****. i hated it when she charms all your party and then when you get close to her she kills you. very rarley escaped that thing. thats why in macha battle always stick to the outer edges of the field and only heal dnt attack. let your other party members attack.
