Warning! This could be considered a bit of a spoiler alert!
I'm probably about 3 years late or so on this but I figured I could share this anyway. In my experiments with field types, after talking to everyone in the root town and reading all forum posts, news, and mail, I found an address to the perfect area for a level 2 player (might work for level 1, but it may be too hard due to the amount of enemies) who wants to level up FAST. The keywords are, "Hidden Passed Over Remnant", and it's a level 1 area. If I typed that correctly, gating there will bring you to a snowy expanse of land with interesting music and architecture. You will get in a LOT of battles - I mean a LOT. I went in at level two and came out after the HUGE dungeon at level 6. You also get a LOT of stuff - don't be surprised to walk out of there with a couple dozen spells, and a large assortment of leather equipment. You can sell the spells for a decent amount of money, and trade the equipment for better equipment. Just remember to use whatever dance skill you have with whatever level of twin blades you have equiped whenever the enemy completely surrounds you, keep an eye on your health, and you'll be fine.
I don't know if this address will work in the other games or not, but I figured any area that gives you piles of loot and 4 levels in an hour or two is worth mentioning.

Good enough?
I've updated my post to protect anyone from reading it wouldn't want to. Of course you must realize they wouldn't come into this thread if they didn't want help...
I'll ALWAYS, WITHOUT FAIL, post helpful information such as this just in case someone is starting out like me and needs the help. But I'm more than willing to put a spoiler alert near the top if that will make folks happy...

well, isn't this a double edged sword.....
on the one hand you have the help provided by deathbliss, and on the other, the right post from Tri_Edge1.
i would say that although this is helpful,it might have been better to post on a thread with a help wanted question.
but,i'm sure someone will find this helpful

What's with you and your attempts at minimodding? I wouldn't be so sure as to say that, it's always good to reccommend a place to level up. If you've played the games, you see people doing that on that board, so what's wrong with Deathbliss doing it here?Tri_Edge1 wrote:shouldn't post help topics unless someone asks

If he had an elitist attitude or whatever like you seem to, then there'd probably be a problem.

Now now, play nice......
I always use the "random" feature when I want to level up (keep using it until I like the level and element details).
But to get the all field portal bonus, I usually use the "solitary" field maps (I don't think it's available until you can get Gardenia). Those are usually rather quick to do.
