Flag Racing Secrets and Stratagies
OK I'm comparitively pretty new to .hack and am definitely addicted and wish I had more time to play. I've already got over 60 hours in and I'm still on Mutation (although I believe I'm pretty close to the end). It's just that I take my sweet ass time when doing thing. For example, I NEVER use Mages souls or anything unless I'm in a battle and my Wavemaster is low on SP. I just sit there and wait for my SP to replenish before opening any more magic portals. Anyway, back to the subject. FLAG RACES SUCK, there such a cochobo race ripoff, but the prizes are so awesome. I managed to get every place three times except only once on first (in root town Carmina Gadelica) but am far from placing in Dun Loireag. Does anyone know of any stratagies or maybe a button combination that gives me a speedburst or anything? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

I can tell you this. The game doesn't have speed boost like in Mario Kart series but depending on what Grunty you use depends as well as how well you can make it around the people in the root towns that creat obsticales. Then you will do okay.
What Grunty's do you have this might help.
Only three are available in the Pheta server: Dun Loregi High Lands. Noble, Iron, Poison.
Only two are available in Lambada server: Cultural City Carmina Gadelica. Noble and Bony Grunty.
Each one has a different strength and weakness.
Plus if you beat the person ranked first you get a Golden Grunty.

I have all three grunties on both servers (I'm pretty sure you need all of them to unlock the race). The one on Dun Loraeg just seems impossible. Any suggestions as to use the D-pad or Analog, and whether to control the turns by using the camera angle stick or the regular way. Either way is working to good for me right know. But the one Golden Grunty I did win made me want more. I'm assuming it's like the second and third place prizes that you can win three times.

LOL! Nope but an intersting thought. You are correct about the race becoming available once you have the all three grunties. Good luck and may the force be with you.bigjoecool wrote:@ Cless
Is the Lambada server where players can go party and dance the Lambada? JK
A little Star Wars humor to go with this topic. LOL!

Besides the Golden and silver grunties being so valuable, don't you feel incomplete with out the bonus wallpaper? If you can get second, then I think you can get first. A few days ago I couldn't even place. Now I got first place twice in the Lambda Server and am 8/10 of a second away from first in Dun Loiraeg. Keep trying. I'm only half way through the series but winning the flag race gave me my favorite wallpaper yet.

I can get images for placing first. That would be cool. Maybe I should ask but I'm off topic. Is it true that if you place first in the Ziet mission on Outbreak you unlock the opening theme to .Hack//SIGN. I just want to clairfy this to see if he wasn't exaggerating.bigjoecool wrote:I'm pretty sure desktop images 51 and 52 are only available by winning the flag races.Cless wrote:Yeah I all ready reach the maximum of every Ryu book by spending most of my time messing around in Infection. I guess the person who gave me that information must have exaggerated. Anyways it would of been cool if it were true because I have it selected the whole time. I wonder what picture would be perfect to us.Tri_Edge1 wrote:i dnt think so, cause if u have a look at all ur images they are perfectly numbered in order so i doubt that u will n hav u ever heard about that b4 hand. i never hav, it isn't even stated on gamefaqs
