Depends on what you mean by cool areas...
...the areas
"Delta: Hideous Organ Market Scaffold" and "Theta: Dog Dancing Passionate Tri Pansy" hold secret stuff but otherwise we need to know what areas you want...
...searching for a specific grunty food?
...for training ? (which is btw near useless when you´re already around Lv. 35 cuz the max. area level you can get in Infection is 30).
...looking for specific monsters?

Well, Rare Items are mostly found by trading and datadraining monsters.
In the two Areas I mentioned above you can get your hands at some Items you can use to trade for rare Items...
I also know some monsters who have rare Weapons to DataDrain.
1. The Hell Hound contains a rare weapon for Heavy Blades (BlackRose/Sanjuro) which is the strongest weapon they can get in Infection => can be found at "Theta: Hideous Orange New Truth"

2. The Phoenix Queen has the Dark History, the best (and rare) Wavemaster staff for Elk and Mistral in Infection...but I dunno in which area I´ve found that monster (have too long no Infection played) :D

Just a Note: SAVE THOSE ITEMS!
Don't withdraw them untill after the last game, then you will get closer to doing the item complete quest.
Be sure to get regular items too, I would save 1 of everything you ever got.

Well, items with the note "rare" doesn´t count in the item-Quest, and save 1 of everything you ever got is impossible, since you can carry 40 types of items around and store 99 in elves harbour, you can only have 139 types of items max.,
but there are 700+ items to register....even with my elves harbour full of rare items (goblin sets, time sets, .hack//sign weapons etc.) it only cost me 1 1/2 hours to register near 150 items...
