Story: the year is 2027 within a nameless city exists a group of individuals known as The arcana it is said that this group posess uimaginable powers and because of their difference they've been persecuted for most of their lifes because they were born under the 22 Arcana the persecution as gotten so bad that the Arcana have actually been boarded off and kept apart from the regular human beings in a special part of the city known as the Arcana zone it is because of this persecution is the reason why many of the Arcana have turned their backs on human beings and have started to fight back against humans and cause chaos and destruction in their wake it is because of these acts of violence that have caused the humans to hate the Arcana more and more if the situation continues it will spark an all out war within the depths of this city is one Arcana who may hold the key to putting and end to this pointless fight unfortunately this Arcana is different he has no problem being different he dresses differently he acts differently and strays from the norm entirely this Arcana is the Magician Soma though he is not the only one their are many others who hold the power to help put a stop to the madness before flames of destruction and despair engulf the city and the entire world. I pray for those involved to come out unscathed because within the walls of this city the of the Arcana has officially begun and the end result can be catastrophic

bio: despite his appearance Soma isnt as depressed or emo as he looks he certaintly has alot of depressing emo moments and he thinks his powers are really lame a and not useful ever but he hates fighting he spends most of his time just wandering around the Arcana zone as a street performer and artist he was born as the magician so he loves magic and the like he hates poorly done magic though Soma is usually allways alone he's never seen in a group or crowd and he uses music to drown out the world around him he almost allways seen with headphones on he hasent awakened to his true abillities as the Magician so he allways stays out of trouble with other Arcana for he can't really fight and he chooses not too he also believes that his powers can not be used in an any sort of battle he doesnt mind the persecution because he doesnt care that he's different even because of the way he acts and dresses the Arcana even treat him differently wich is why all of the persecution does not faze him even the slightest

Name: Rei Grimoire "The Death Witch"
Age: 17
Arcana: Arcana 13 - "The Death"
Power/Abilities:
Caging Hair: A 'cursed field of plundering' that is effective in the range of her field of vision. Being the Arcana of Death, she can "plunder" the heat (lifeforce) from a living creature she can see, but the maximum output relies on time (on how long she keeps plundering heat). Rei can start up the plundering once she has confirmed her target, and people who have experienced it and/or are Arcana themselves will see it as red strands (her hair's true shade) wrapping around the target and charring. In addition to becoming red, her long hair can somewhat extend and become a daunting weapon. She is able to control its movements and use it to absorb heat directly from anything it comes into contact with. The drawing out of the heat produces a powerful burning sensation on the surface of the object, causing some viewers of her abilities to believe that she was simply setting things on fire. It does not actually burn the target, as it doesn't affect the target's clothes and stops burning as soon as Rei stops plundering lifeforce from the target. At its maximum, the red strands cover the target as well as the entire area the target is in, making it extremely difficult to escape - hence the name, 'Caging Hair'. She can use the lifeforce to heal injuries or (usually) to sustain her body in place of food and water. On the other hand is she able to share her own lifeforce with others as well allowing her to possibly even heal others as long as it isn't too major.

Bio: One of the more feared Arcana due to her powers, Rei was ostracized from her family 4 years ago for inadvertently killing her father and nearly killing her mother when her powers first awakened before she could figure out how to control her powers. A quiet and melancholy girl, she now lives mostly alone near a small stand of trees next to a large pond, fighting those that attack her and helping others that are kind to her.

Bio: When he was a child, he the first power it came was the slash wave, wich it killed his mother, his father didn't knew about this power, years later, on a rainy day, his father had just came from the street and was wet, he accidentally electrocuted his father to death, this is when he discovered this power, when they announced the city for the arcana, he knew he was one of them, then he moved to the city, he discovered the power Hammer, he named all his powers, and with the time, when his powers were growing, he started moving out of the city to hide his powers, after some time, he was declared as a criminal, he then had to make a costume to hide his appearance, and when he had free time he saved people in danger and then returned to the city, and changed himself, he called himself 'The Masked Renegade'.

power/abillities:

Healing Wind - The ability to heal wounds by focusing on the wind. The wind effects people based on the walls and the strength of the wind. The wind allows Miyoko to heal people that are still alive. The stronger the wind, the more dire the wounds healed. This includes healing illnesses that effect the body by the use of blood clots. For example, the wind can heal someone having a stroke. The ability is most effective in an open area with strong wind. In a closed room, the ability isn't as effective.

Red String of Fate - The ability to see the connections between people. Personified by a red string, Miyoko can see who is connected to who. This only works with focusing on one person.

Negation Field - The ability to negate any ability within a closed area. This can only work within a ten foot radius and keeps attacks from hitting anyone within it. It also stops anyone, including Miyoko, from using their abilities while in it. She can't use her other two abilities while this power is in effect.

bio: Miyoko was abused as a child by her parents. She would tell her parents that she could see the red line connecting them. It scared them and caused them to attack her when she said anything stupid. She stopped talking, finding that she was starting to disappear. When the persecution escalated, her parents threatened to put her there if she misbehaved. One day, Miyoko saved her parents by healing her mother's illness while they were walking in the park. After her mother woke up, they beat her up until she fell unconscious and sent her into the secluded area.

As a result, Miyoko doesn't speak because people don't like to hear about the lines connecting them. She is friends with some people in the city, but she doesn't rely on anyone. She currently runs a small house that allows people to rest if necessary.

(Since Neko showed me this, i've been thinking on it, and I think I'm gonna join. Hope you don't mind if I use two characters, though. I had two good ideas for this. ^_^;; )

Name: Zorlo
Age: 19
Arcana: The Hermit
Power/Abilities: The Hermit, being an Arcana based upon the life experiences and seclusion of a person, were not born to Zorlo as other powers tend to be. They didn't manifest, but required training that would extend the period of a normal, human lifetime. Via a form of Spirit Walking, Zorlo learned magical powers as a Hermit within a year, real world time, but what felt to him to be decades within the realm of spirits. Those powers were that of Druidism, and he learned them within the Emerald Dream among the great Druids of time, who remain sleeping as they observe the events of the world.

Due to his not being naturally a druid or inherently talented in druidic magic, Zorlo's Druid Magics had to be readapted, giving him unique powers as a druid by combining his conventional knowledge of magecraft from things like anime and other fantasy based things.

Conjuration: A brand of magic that allows for the summoning of creatures or the materialization of magical weapons and armors into the real world. Although this magic requires a great deal of training to master, upon mastery, most spells within it are very easy and can be used virtually at will. The life energy required to create items varies depending upon what is being created.

Hero of the Green Metal: The attribute that gave Zorlo his main ability to fight back. By condensing the energies of nature into a physical form, he can create weapons comprised of a green metal. The green metal has varying degrees of strength and weakness; flexibility and stiffness, allowing for it to be used for as something as simple as a sword, or something as complex as a bow and it's bowstring. These weapons are Zorlo's main method of attack and the weapons he uses are varied thanks to his training with many weapons. When not in contact with him, unless they underwent Alteration before release, the weapons vanish within two seconds of leaving his hands.

Conjure Forest SPirit: Zorlo can summon beasts of the forest to do his bidding in a spiritual form. The creatures he generally summons are foxes, bears, small birds that inhabit the forest, and anything else that may be of use. The amount of energy to summon these creatures depends on the size of the animal spirit, and controlling them drains energy constantly, making constant use of this skill very difficult.

Conjure Treant: The power to summon lesser tree spirits. By creating a tree spirit, Zorlo can control a smaller tree person to aid him as he needs. This is more difficult for Zorlo, as tree spirits tend to resist anyone who isn't a full druid in both behavior and nature. These creatures are very strong in combat.

Summon Druidic Spirit: Zorlo can, via an extremely impressive use of high Druidic Magic, summon one of two Great Druid SPirit Guides. In doing so, he seals off his power to use any of his other powers except Hero of Green Metal, and becomes very weak until the spirit dispels itself. He cannot control these in the least, and they cannot be dispelled by him.

The spirits are:

Infernal SPirit Illidan: The spirit of a druid who has mastered use of fire magic, Illidan's arm blades and attacks scorch the landscape violently. Although a spirit of the forest and a druid, he has mastered the greatest power of those who threaten the forest to unleash their own powers upon themselves. Illidan is full of pride and power, and won't back down in a battle until his foe has been thoroughly defeated.

Beast King Barbados: The spirit of a druid who has mastered man animal forms. Barbados can shift between countless animal forms in combat, but his most famous is becoming a Dire Wolf that stands almost ten feet high and is as massive as its height indicates. He is calm and collected, but will fight if there is no other option. He cannot be commanded or dispelled by Zorlo.

Alteration: The power to alter things within nature. Using this power, Zorlo can use the natural life energy within things like trees to convert them into Green Metal weapons. The main example he uses is turning a twig into a dagger. Although he can expand them beyond their physical nature, it requires adding additional life energy to do, but the effect is a semi-permanent weapon that can be used by others.

The other application of this power is by overcharging life energy into a weapon, he can turn it into a more powerful version, but that version only lasts for the duration of one attack. When turning something into an arrow, it maintains its form for seven seconds before vanishing from material destruction instead of being dispelled by the world.

Spiritual Workshop: Zorlo possesses a forge within the Emerald Dream. Upon meditating for about seven hours, he can enter into the Dream and use this workshop to forge and configure new weapons to use for his Hero of the Green Metal skill. Currently, he can create basic swords, short swords, daggers, spears, halberds, lances and bows and arrows. Also, here he created permanent, green metal armor with the help of a druid who conferred upon the armor a great Druidic Blessing to fully manifest it into the real world. THe armor is self-regenerating when damaged.

Appearance:
Bio: Of the Arcana, Zorlo was the only one who didn't discover his powers while he was in the city. He went on a soul searching journey in which he spent hours meditating and fasting in order to try to ascertain a greater understanding of life. His powers as the Hermit responded to this and brought him into the Emerald Dream. Within the Emerald Dream, his external body was preserved for one year while the druids spent time teaching him what they could. About thirty years within the EMerald Dream passed when Zorlo returned to the original world, his young body almost totally unchanged. His main advantage now: the experiences of most of a lifetime compressed into the young and powerful body of a teenager.

Name: Zachary Leos
Age: 17
Arcana: The Sun
Powers/Abilities:

Numerology of the Sun: The greatest power of one protected by the light of day, Zachary possesses a unique strength. In the time between sunrise and full noon, his powers are on the rise. Between noon-day sun and about three PM, his strength is three times a normal persons, and between three and the hours of sunset, his powers begin to wane. Any time after sunset, his strength is no greater than normal persons.

Flame Lance, Seigmund: The lance Zachary wields in his right hand. This powerful weapon has a tip that causes whatever it touches to try and catch on fire. This weapon's strength is dependent upon Numerology of the Sun, but can function without it being active, the flames are just much more calm than at midday, when they can create a raging inferno.

SPear of Lightning, Seiglyn: The sister spear of Seigmund. This spear is infused with the powers of lightning and is wielded in Zachary's left hand. Technically more of a javelin, this spear has a lightning bolt shaped blade and shocks whatever it touches. When thrown, this weapon takes the form of lightning until it pierces whatever it is being thrown at. This weapon's power is also dependent upon Numerology of the Sun, but the power variation between lightning bolts and shocking isn't nearly as noticeable, as the damage inflicted is more concentrated upon a single target, rather than a group or area.

Appearance:

Bio: Unlike many of the other Arcana, Zachary's power as the Sun didn't get him immediately removed from society. INstead, he was accepted as a hero for his impressive feats of strength and his heroic nature. Ever outgoing and charismatic, he never acted in a way to make the people fear or wonder about him. It wasn't until he accidentally called upon the two spears of the sun that he was banished and now lives with some sadness. Even though he accepts the necessity of fear and law against such inhuman powers, he seeks to regain his position as the sun, shining light and hope upon all of the people of the land.

{ near the pond Sits soma alone with his head phones on as the world walks by him not even batting an eye towards him}

Soma: Every day its the same thing the same people the same world yet all of us here are arcana they still Act like I don't even exist whatever not my problem { he picks up a couple of rocks as they start floating in his hands} I don't understand this world humans treat us horribly they keep us locked up in this zone of the city and yet most of us harbor grudges towards the humans for such actions and yet humans and Arcana are not so different { he looks towards his hand with the floating rocks} because of something like this were treated so differently......I don't understand humans much less the Arcana theirs no point for all this hate and violence...

Yu happened to pass by the pond with his costume on and he ran to the doors of the city, he saw two guards beating a human who was trying to see the city "Tch" Yu jumped trough the doors and the guards turned to him and got their guns out and shot at Yu "You!, monster!, go back to your city!" said the guards as Yu summons a big hammer to his hands and stomps it to the ground causing the guards to fall in the ground and throwed it to a guard, leaving him unconscious as the other one shot at Yu and took cover with the human "Leave him alone" a lightning shock came trough the guard's entire body electrocuting him and leaving him temporary in shock and the guard couldn't move "Come on" said Yu, helping the human stand up "thanks" said the human "I just wanted to look what was in there, and they started punching and kicking me "heh, don't worry, i'm always here, in there there's just a world of people who they think they are monsters, now go home and rest" said Yu, as the guy leaves and he jumps atop the city's doors and looks at the unable-to-move guard, then enters the town again "Tch, everyday is the same, if you exit here they -eventually- track you down, put you to sleep and return you here" Yu said to himself as he passed trough the pond again and walked to his house, changed to his normal clothes and went out of his house and walked around, as always

It was morning once again. Like ever morning, Miyoko Takeshi dressed in the dark. After she was dressed, she began to work on the day's duties. Her first duty was to make a meal for the people resting at the house since last night. She went down the stairs, dodging what looked to be a fight between two of the people resting. It was a fight of words that would end well enough.

"Good morning Ghost." A man with what seemed to be a crate of food spoke. "I didn't know where to put this. They delivered it this morning." Miyoko looked at the contents for a moment, her finger moving to point at the area it was to be placed.

"I wonder if any new people will visit for breakfast." A girl spoke, cooking a few eggs that would have to be rationed into each plate. Miyoko smiled at the thought, picking up the water pitcher and beginning to pour some into the coffee machine. Tea was scarce in the city, so she had had to get used to coffee.

A place where the weary rest. This was the place that the hermit had wandered into. The clank of his green armor defined his entrance almost enthusiastically, although his face and eyes were stoic. He had been wandering for a while now, and a chance to take a load off and get some food seemed like a good idea. The rest house was small, certainly, but the woman outside and the man carrying in food seemed nice enough. The hermit looked at the girl and peered into her eyes for a second before actually speaking. "Madam, might I be able to find a warm meal here? I had heard of a house of rest, and I was wondering if this was it?" The double question was a bit superfluous, but the man felt the two were intrinsically linked out of necessity. One could not be without the other, so why not inquire as to both.

Zachary sat atop a building, enjoying the fullness of the warm rays of the sun. He finished tightening the bindings of the burial cloths around his spear and lance to seal off their magical powers. His accidental summoning of them had given him enough trouble. For now, he would seal their powers and use the strength of his powers as the Sun to fend off foes. Aside from that, he sat and pondered... how could he return to his place in the sun? The warm rays of the people beaming on him as a hero as well again. He longed for it... he craved it. And still, he had been removed from it. What to do now?

Miyoko smiled at the figure talking, a tray of food being handed to a person across from her. She nodded, gently using a hand to lead him to a place in the rather full dining room. As soon as the visitor sat down, a woman put down a cup of coffee. The chairs were a bit uncomfortable and stiff, but it was the best they could find. Some would be leaving as soon as the meal was over. The man who came to talk to hermit had one of the meals on a tray for him.

"Welcome to the Ghost house." The man spoke, looking a little tired. "The woman you just met doesn't talk a lot, but if you have her approval, then you're welcome to stay as long as you need." He put the tray down. "Let any of us known if you would like a room after your meal is over."

Zorlo looked at the man that gave him food. "Well, sir, if you wouldn't mind me asking you a few questions before I wonder about anything else," he said, looking at the food, "That would be lovely." Zorlo took a bite of the food and smiled slightly. THe chair was better than sleeping against a tree or on a rock, and the food had taste and didn't seem to be made of things that made normal people cringe. This was better than anything he'd had in months. "Mostly, why that nice, young lady doesn't speak much," the Hermit asked, looking at him. "After all, one would assume a beauty like her would have many people pursuing her with all manner of propositions... so is it to avoid that?" the green haired man asked, thinking on the matter.

Completely opposite of The Sun, whom sat high in the bright morning rays or The Hermit that sat in a warm house, the woman that carried the Arcana, 'The Death', slowly awoke in the cool hollow of a dying tree. The piece of forest she lived at was still dark, shield from the sun by several tall, nearby buildings that would keep it mostly in shadow until close to midday. She shivered slightly, the 'heat' of the tree no longer strong enough to insulate her from the cool temperatures of the area. Slowly, she crawled out and brushed off whatever dead bugs and dirt she could see and find on herself before looking to a tree. The tree almost seemed to burn as she plundered enough life force to subsist on for the day without eating or drinking, providing someone didn't attack her again that day. And so, she started on her morning routine, checking what little actually food and water she had hidden away and checking the area for people before returning to sit on a stump overlooking the nearby pond to decide what to do next for that day.

Soma: { he stands up as he tosses the rocks though due to Soma's levitation abilitiy he shoots them across the pond at a high speed} wow thats a new record! { he picks ups his back as he sets up his performance stand as he picks up Items from around the area} and now it's time for Magic! { he starts performing Magic tricks that seems wildy unimpressive as he then shoots sparks out of his hand to cause miniture Fire works and he slowly draws in a crowd

obnoxious Arcana: what?!...is that it?!

Soma: eh? oh why not at all sir step right up and Allow the great magician to entertain you great this kind of spectator come now than allow me to show you a trick { he pulls out a deck of cards} pick a card sir

Obnoxious Arcana: okay { he picks a card as he places it back in the deck}

Soma: allright than now if you watch folks I'm going to make our nice gentleman hear wish he didnt volunteer for this trick { he looks at the man as he sticks his hand into the mans chest as he rips out the card the man picked} is this your card

Obnoxious Arcana: AAAAHHH ASGGGGHHH!!!...Wha- what the!?!....AAAGAGGHHH!!!

Soma: just a minute { all of a sudden the man is on his knee's holding his stomach and their isnt even a wound much less a hole in the mans shirt revealing it all to of been a illusion} now than did you have a nice dream?

Obnoxious Arcana: what?!... { he looks around as the crowd starts laughing at the performance} you...little!-!!
Soma: ahhahaha now than do we have any more volunteers { he spots Rei} ahh yes you there miss would you mind coming over here to help me perform a magic trick

Yu, atracted by the magician's trick, he walked over the crowd and was now on first line, watching the man getting out of the scene quickly This guy... He's funny he tough, and watched the next show

"...Eh..?" He... wants me to come down...? Rei was a bit shocked at first. She hadn't expected it be called on, considering her powers and infamy. Even as she rose to walk forward, people were already whispering her imposed title, the Death Witch. By the time she reached the small crowd, everyone was watching her as they parted to let her pass to the front. The entire walk was quiet as she came up to Soma, a bit wary or nervous, maybe both. It was hard to tell as she greeted him in a quiet voice and waited to see what trick he would perform.

Soma: { he glances towards the crowd} whats their problem shes just like us { he gives a goofy smile} okay then Watch as Miss Rei here now performs the Magic trick I like to call Flower petals now than miss if you would be so kind as too pick a card from my deck while this guy { a illusion of soma forming a copy} go collects generous tips from the Audience let me hear you do you want your minds blown!

second Soma: YEAH YEAH! { a top hat forms in his hands as he walks around collecting any generous tips}

"With her position, it would be hard to see anyone proposing. She lives in this city after all." The man seemed to be trying to figure out how to word it. "Her name is Miyoko Takeshi, but she prefers to be called 'Ghost.' She started this house after she being abandoned here." He looked towards where Miyoko was walking with another tray. "She didn't have a lot of good memories as a child, so she stopped talking. She mostly talks through hand gestures and writing."

"How bothering," Zorlo said as he looked at her. "The poor girl. Hmm..." he said as he rose. "Thank you very much, sir," he said as he walked towards her. "Madam, I wish to speak with you. Nothing bad... but I am wondering quite strongly about your disposition. If you don't wish to speak here, that is fine, but I do possess a unique disposition as a member of the Hermit Arcana," he said, pulling the Arcana card from his pocket and showing her. "I possess knowledge beyond my years, but that's another story for another time. If you wish, I could try to explain it to you, if you want," the man said as he smiled at her. This girl... something about her made him feel... odd. At peace, almost.

As the second soma passed trough the audience with his hat Yu stuck his hand on his pocket and grabbed 5.000Yen and put it on the hat "I'm hoping for a good magic show" he said with a smile

Miyoko looked towards the man in green. She removed a card from her jacket with the Temperance arcana. She closed her eyes and made a small sign towards one of the women. She lead the green man towards a sitting room with no people inside. She sat down on the worn, almost dying couch with a nervous expression on her face. Normally she'd go against talking with another Arcana. Still, this man was a hermit tarot, meaning he was of a different rank, most likely able to use offensive ability.
