Time is the Price
At least seventy people die each day. Of those seventy 45 come back with the help of modern medicine. Of the other 25 at least one person comes back to the world. A bargain with devil allows you one more week of life along with an attribute granted with the devil's pact. Many powerful people subjected themselves into taking the loan. Hitler, Schaffer, even JFK, took this on in order to live past death. The demon's always take one thing, whatever is most important to you, as a reminder.
However, they couldn't match the might of the angels. For every angel they defeated, they got two more weeks on this world. Not one of these men succeded. Hitler's ability to manipulate people was utterly crushed, Schaffer's experiments became even more deadly as he approached the first nuclear bomb. And JFK's Increased mental capacity couldn't stand to them. What hope do you have?

Re: Time is the Price
Name: Tallia Night
Age: 21
Time of death: Four(4) days ago.
Demon's attribute:
~Endless Warfare: Grants Tallia access to the armor of the Demon that contracted with her. While in use, once Tallia grabs hold of anything that can be even remotely conceptualized as a weapon by her own recognition with her gauntlets and she decides that she wishes to wield it, it instantly gains the property and form of a "Demonic Weapon". It allows for something as worthless as a piece of scrap iron to be turned into a demonic spear or sword capable of killing Angels and striking Angelic weapons without problem. This also allows her use modern weapons like a handgun, that would likely be marginally effective on Angels and easily defended, and make each bullet just as lethal as it would be against a Human while also allowing her to naturally control any weapon that she wields as if it were a favorite weapon with which she specialized in and polished her skills for many years.
Bio: There really isn't all that much that could be said about Tallia. An average, athletic girl going to an average school. She had good grades, stayed out of trouble and loved her family immensely. Indeed, she probably wasn't all that memorable or worth such a tale if not for a night of bad luck. Two armed thieves broke in to their house to rob the place one night while her parents were out, not realizing that her and her little sister were still there. When they were discovered... well you don't need me to say exactly. Finished with everything, the thieves, intending to leave no witnesses, shot Tallia first. As her consciousness faded, she made her wish. "Please... someone, anyone... I don't her to Die!!"
She found herself floating in the darkness as the form of a massive, Black-armored demon walking into view. Do you wish to live...? She nodded. Do you want the power to save your Sister, whatever the cost...? She nodded again. Power, dark and painful, swirled up and into her body. Then you will become my Servant. You will have one week to live. If you want more time, you must kill Angels for me. Go, I've already collected your first week's payment.
When she came to, she and her sister were in the hospital, having somehow survived that night though her sister was comatose from her injuries. She thought maybe it had been a dream at first. That the Demon Knight had been a delusion of her near death experience. After two days without her parents coming though, things were getting weird. When they temporarily released her with an escort to return home for clothing, she discovered why. Her parents laid dead on the floor with a note staying, "The price has been paid." laying next to their blood forms. That's when she realized that the Demon Knight was no delusion. She had find an angel kill in the next five days if she wanted to stay with her sister. One did find her a few days later, but lacking experience, she only managed to drive it off, unable to deal a lethal blow. Now she's getting worried. if she can't kill one soon, Her sister is going to awake up family-less.
Lost item: Her Parents. Tallia loved her family beyond all else, and it shows in that she continues to live in order to raise her younger sister in place of their now dead parents.

Re: Time is the Price
Name: Zorlo
Age: 23
Time of death: Eight days ago
Demon's attribute: All of the power and magic of a vampire without any of their weaknesses. (Super-human physical capacities and power over dark magics.)
Bio: A classical student of learning, Zorlo spent many days sitting in libraries or his room, studying and learning all he could about the nature of things: Human, godly, and otherwise. Across all of these things, Zorlo was fascinated by those people who had experienced some form of revelation in their life. From Homer, the Greek poet; to Dante and his journeys through hell; to John Milton and his epic depiction of the great fall and the war in heaven, everything about this classical world fascinated Zorlo.
One piece, however, written by Wolfgang von Goethe, particularly fascinated Zorlo. Dr. Faust, the infamous man who made a deal with the devil, was capable of fulfilling his deal with the devil and still avoiding being sent to hell. This concept of redemption despite the commission of a highly sinful act reinforced two realities for Zorlo: In truth, humans didn't need angels or demons... but they needed to use the two to gain what was necessary. Demons possessed the powers that humans lacked... the power to throw off oppressive yolk of any other creature... and angels possessed something evil more fascinating: the power to forgive and save. With a proper balance, one could overcome both and attain great power in life, but avoid damnation in death.
Despite Zorlo's revelation, an empty life and a broken heart had left him hard fetch to continue living, and he was found, teetering between life and death, in his apartment building by his landlord. As he sat in the hospital, awaiting his ultimate fate, the time came to see how much he could truly do... As such, he invoked the demons to save him. "I'll trade whatever you desire... but spare me this rotten fate. Grant me all the strength, the speed, the dexterity, the durability, and the magical prowess of your kind, and truly I can make anything possible."
Some demon somewhere must have heard this plea, for when the line went dead, Zorlo fell into a sleep... one he awoke from elsewhere. There, the demon and the man stared at each other. "Well now I know how the classical gods felt when they met Mephistopheles."
The demon simply laughed. "It is hard to imagine that humans ceased worshipping such creatures in favor of one so detached. Laughable, really. "I AM" abandons you to a life of suffering, and yet foolish mortals worship him still."
Zorlo laughed as well. "You are bold to speak that name... although I guess for your kind, it is not a problem, is it? Why am I here?"
The demon removed a book from his cloak and smiled. "I have given you your heart's desire... as depicted in your journal. You have all the powers of a vampire, but none of their drawbacks... for that is what you sought truly, was it not."
Zorlo chuckled. "A truly inquisitive demon. I must say, I'd not thought you'd take my journal as payment."
The demon laughed. "Payment? Think of this more as a down payment... from this day forwards, you shall serve as a warrior who slays angels. Each one slain will gain you one week of life. You get a one-week initial payment, so get to work."
Zorlo laughed as he returned to the mortal world. To date, he has only slain one angel, although his fortune was such that he relinquished the creature of its sword and slew it with said blade. Zorlo now carries the angel's sword, looking for someone who can modify it to make the weapon more effective against angels. "The truest form of irony is the one where you are slain by your own hand... but I shall not befall such a pathetic fate."
Lost item: His journal: Zorlo's most precious item. The journal depicted all of his insights and understandings of the world. Even so far as to note the value and awkwardness of the devil meeting classic gods, Zorlo has defined the nature of humanity and the value of morality and immorality against the values of law and mankind. THis also depicts Zorlo sense of honor despite his seemingly amoral nature.

(We can go ahead and start. Others must PM to join K? Work you into the story better that way. Post whenever team!)
Name: Haayn
Age: 17
Time of death: 4 weeks ago.
Demon's attribute: He was granted with the worst ability possible. He tells the truth. The worst, unbearable truth. 2) (Will be told in the story after starting)
Bio: Haayn was a victim of war. Utterly destroyed in a helicopter crash. He lay there, still alive from the pressure, staring into the medic’s eyes. And all he could say was, “let me die.” He lived his whole life without a purpose, and at first refused the demon’s proposition, but eventually accepted, wanting another chance to save himself.
Lost item: His reasoning. He had always relished his ability to distinguish right from wrong, and had always wished to be a knight of justice. Now he can hardly decide what’s a bad action or not. 2)(updated after story begins)

Re: Time is the Price
"What a truly lovely day! the sun is shining, the air is crisp, and I'm on my way to turn this freaking thing into a more valuable weapon. What I wouldn't give to see it... the great kingdom beyond the edge of earth! Well, for now, that is just a dream, but it isn't completely impossible either!" Zorlo said as he smiled. "With all the data I've collected, there can be no doubt that, in order to arrive there, I must find a path hidden beyond the veil of human perception. At one time, I could not have ever hoped to arrive there, but now I have a chance!" the man dressed as a noble said as the people around him seemed to move a crawl.
"STill, to move as I do, I cannot fathom that others are not more shaken, or perhaps they do not truly attempt to explain what they perceive," the man said as he smiled and headed into an alleyway towards a nearby building. "Hmm... It smells of demonic power here... yes, yes, yes, I can use this indeed," the man said with a smile as he opened the door and looked at the wall. "Hmm... It's close. very close! I shall find it and put this sword of Oricalcum to good use! Without the power of an angel, this sword shan't be stopped by their armor with ease!" the man said as he stopped at a door.
"I truly wonder..." the man said as he knocked at the door. "May I ponder about something of a quandary I find myself incurring. You smell of one like me, a being that possesses a great boon and yet heavy shackles, and methinks you're in the correct position to help! The smell of twisted metal and wicked edge calls me forth from the shadows to seek your wisdom and I shall sell my guidance," the man said with a smile.

What? Where am I? The man looked around. He was enveloped in total darkness. Something he found all too familiar. Oh yes....It's over...My pathetic life has ended. A beast appeared before him again. Just like the first. However, this time, it had long curling horns, with red eyes, and skin, with splotches of soot all over it. It appeared as a satyr would.
"I have all that means to you. But there is one thing I MUST have. Make this pact now, and I shall send you back. Defeat the Angel Raziel and the Angel Micheal, and I shall grant you you're life back." The man seemed to weigh his options, then, slowly offered his palm once more

Re: Time is the Price
What am I gonna do...? I have three days... Tallia thought to herself as she paced back and forth, finally having a free moment from dealing with police investigating her parent's 'Mysterious Murder' and the hospital wanting her to remain as a patient a few days longer. The problem was, she didn't have a few days to waste. Her sister was still unconscious too. She need to kill an Angel soon, but her lack of experience made it obvious on just how hard that task would be. It kept coming back to one thing... "I need more time...!" she said dejectedly to no one in particular as she heard the knock on the door. Some else...? What more could happen today...? she thought as she went to and opened the door. "Can I.." she paused as she took in Zorlo's appearance and more notably, the weapon in his hand. "...help you...?" she finished as her left hand inched back toward her hidden knife.
Re: Time is the Price
"Yes, yes you can," the man said as he removed a pair of glasses from his jacket pocket and put them on. "You see, I'm in need of help... and I've heard some things from within the boundary of recreating magical items," the man said with a smile. "YOu see, I've recently acquired a weapon from an angel, and I think I wish to know if you have the powers that can do something about this. If you can, I'll consider helping you hunt angels, as I have a knack for it," he lied, "so maybe I can help you out. What are your powers anyway? I smell something demonic here, but I"m not sure what," the man said, leaning in. "Also, you're kinda pretty. What's your name? I'm ZOrlo, a wandering... uh... theologian and philosopher, along with a person who has studied all Revelation based literature. From my gatherings," he said as he rambled on for a second. "Sorry, anyway, what are your powers?" he asked, sniffing her. She smelled pretty good besides the demonic armor.
Re: Time is the Price
Haayn snapped out of his reverie, and slammed his head into a huge piece of Oricalcum, "Dammit, That hurt," He whispered to neither of the two in particular. There was a man, and a woman above him. "What in bloody hell have I gotten meself into this time?" he said as his eyes scanned the angelic saber.
Re: Time is the Price
Zorlo lowered the weapon after accidentally hitting the man that had snuck up behind him. "How now? An oddity of oddities. I've been found, blast!" Zorlo said as he shifted so he was hiding behind Tallia. "I'm not here... just this girl who smells of demonic energy," the man said, cackling. Oh, this would truly work... he'd already been seen... if this failed, he'd simply come up with another plan... high speed escape ALWAYS worked in these situations.

Re: Time is the Price
Tallia looked behind her at Zorlo, who had shifted there almost faster then she could follow. And now, she had another standing in front of her. Why is this stuff happening to her? "Why is all this happening to me...? Did I do something? Was my life too good or too boring?" she asked no one in particular as she felt a headache forming. "Okay. You!" she pointed to Zorlo. "No more round-about, verbose sentences. I don't have the time right now. Who are you, why are you here, what are you smelled from me. Twenty words or less per answer, asides do count whether I hear them or not; start. As for you," she turned to Haayn now. "Same thing, minus smell question. Go," she finished, waiting to see who would speak first.
Re: Time is the Price
"Names Haayn, a brit from well....Britain.. I guess it's easiest to say I've no idea how i've arrived here. I died. Lost my pathetic life just like you." He stared at the small number over her head."Four days.." he mumbled, then more loudly, "And what's this bleeding fool doing with an Angels saber?"

Re: Time is the Price
"Uh huh..." was Tallia's only reply to Haayn as she rubbed the bridge of her nose. This was going to be trying, she could already tell today was going to be 'one of those days'. It wasn't like she actually believed this only happened to her. No, with the amount of people in the World, this had to happen rather regularly. But why were they finding their way to her doorstep. "Okay. And you?" she said now, looking at Zorlo with her arms crossed.
Re: Time is the Price
"Not a saber, a long sword, sir," Zorlo said as he emerged. "As for your answers, my name is Zorlo, I need your help adjusting this weapon to kill angels more effectively if you possess such a power, and your body smells of dark iron from hell." With that, he paused. Twenty words or less was easy, but it took all the fun out of the answers. He wouldn't quite explain himself... that was another story. Perhaps... well, no doubt they had no interest in his person. They'd more likely simply stare oddly at him. How quaint it was, dealing with these less learned folks.
"Anyway, can you help me with this sword I've taken from those winged men? If any of you are on a timeline as well, it is quite important I return to my purpose. Life just moves too fast with a deadline."

Re: Time is the Price
Dark Iron, huh...? she thought as she remembered her fight the day before and the Angel's words. I guess that Angel was right then. This might help me then... she finished as she raised her hand. The skin turned death pale as a huge, black Gauntlet covered her arm from the elbow down. "Yes, I can help you, since it seems this power isn't very well hidden, from either side. I'm Tallia, by the way," she said as she reached out and caught hold of the hilt. The cross embedded in the gold & silver sword shone with power as her power acted upon the blade. Slowly, black lines of energy engraved their way up the Angelic weapon as holy, white flames licked at the lines and her gauntlet, trying to keep them at bay. "Such resistance...! But... this level won't stop me!" she said to no one particular. Black flames rose against the white, pushing back as the black lines continued to etch themselves into and across the blade until a smaller, black cross etched itself over the white one, dulling it shine as both flames vanished. If Zorlo could smell the Hell Iron clearly before, it was likely overpowering now. The room and doorway outside smelled strongly of a dark, almost evil forge and hot, just worked Iron. "Here, is this to your liking, Zorlo?" she asked as she presented him the now gray, black, and gold Demonic Holy Sword.
Re: Time is the Price
"Curiouser and curiouser. I did not believe such a thing was possible, yet it turns out I was not quite correct," ZOrlo said as he took the sword and looked at it. "Hmm... it is much to my liking, thank you. Now then, what can I do for you?" Zorlo asked with a smile. "After all, I must repay such a kind act... mostly since I've no money. What else can I do in leu of that?" he asked, moving about slightly, still quite curious about this girl.
Re: Time is the Price
"YOU ARE A FOOL!" Haayn slammed the man with the Saber into the wall nearby, "Do you actually think that it will be more effective now?! It was more likely to cause damage than it is now! They have a resistance to our energy but not their own! I took down four before I died, killed each with it's own weapon because MINE DIDN'T DO ****!"
Re: Time is the Price
Zorlo took a deep, calming breath as he grabbed the man's arm and gripped it until he released and moved it away calmly. "Listen carefully, son, and understand the logic. Consider something for one moment," the man said as he held the sword up. "A holy sword, imbued with the powers of demonic energy. A sword comprised of the infinite balance of the universe. In this day and age, this is the closest humans can acquire to a divine, god-killing weapon. Sadly, the gods have mostly gone, leaving angels and demons to fill their void. Such misfortune, such misfortune," the man said as he drew the sword as golden and purple flames danced around the sword. "Killed with their own weapons, yes, but this sword isn't simply for killing angels, sir. You don't understand my ambition, not one bit," the man said as he adjusted his glasses.
"Now then, think of it this way: demonic creatures suffer when struck with a divine weapon. Divine beings suffer because of demonic corruption. This blade is now just as effective as it was," the man said, nodding. "Next, attack me again and I'll collect your arm and use it as a back scratcher," Zorlo said, completely unfazed by what had just happened and making a content promise.

Re: Time is the Price
(You have no knowledge of how this world works....You shouldn't have any recollection of what 'Gods' exist and which do not. There is no demonic corruption, or divine retribution. An angels saber is aligned with the element of Holy, The element which does more damage to itself than darkness, and vice versa. Like how two fires will put out eachother.)
Haayn slammed his elbow into the man's hand, disarming him effectively. He then spun and slammed the hilt into the man's neck knocking him unconcious, "Only one thing matters. Killing the Angels. No matter what 'Abitions' you have, without killing an Angel you don't have a chance of acheiving it. This thing," He crushed the white pearl at the bottom of the saber's hilt, causing the power of holy to swarm it and overtake the demonic presence, "will do more against it's own kind."
