a loss of breathe.
can't see it coming
missed the train .
if only i wasn't late
i would've made the date.
i knew the signs had passed
my team amassed.
a face unbroken
then a smile had opened.
staring at the body
i saw the trace.
i followed the wire
to the vase
to bad. wrong place.
i stood over the case.
i had lost the trace.
outside a man was running
i knew the gears were turning.
this man had the face,
a new trace.
he had the weapon.
yet held no fear,
this man had won
my team was done.
the body wasn't fresh
the man had left.
i turned to the mirror
splattered on my chest
there was the blood.
on my face was the wound.
in my hand the tool of death.
